I went with the sorta overpriced gatorback ones with the bucking bronco on them. I actually like the look of them - though I know lots of people don't really like the looks of flaps.
I don't think it's unreasonable for someone to not want mud and dirt kicked up onto their boards/steps so they don't step in it and track into or off the vehicle. I know I get sick of cleaning up my garage so I don't track crap into my house.
I would not worry about winter with the soft top too much other than if you have to use the back a lot. The clear plastic will crack if you look at it the wrong way in freezing temperatures.

I only have about 35k on my 21 FE. But only issue (other than the recalls haha) has been the modem unit dying (who cares) that was replaced under warranty. No cracks in the roof. No complaints from me, especially it being a first year vehicle.
Exactly. Call me jaded, but the trend seems to be call something a special edition to cause FOMO and have people basically just buy an overpriced appearance package with maybe some relatively inconsequentially upgraded thing.

If you were gung ho on orange, I would say to get Marsh gray and do some orange accents on it. Just don't go overboard of course.
