Dang OP...you were going through the same thing as me at the same time. So I am a little late to the party. I also have the SPV brackets. I too did not like how far they stuck out. Also, I wanted to add quad set of LP4s instead on on set of PL6s. So here is what I did.

I installed my 4bangers fog lights setup and they are great! The 4bangers HXBs put out the same (actually slightly more) light than the DD SS3 Max but due to their smaller size I can put three sets in the bumper which is like having three SS3s Max. The SS3s are too big and you can only get one...
