There are good instructions in this thread, that was mainly what I referenced when I did the wiring. Not hard at all and I hate wiring (and plumbing for that matter!).
I did end up wiring the compressor switch into the upfitter circuit (Switch AUX 6). It gives me the ability to turn on/off the compressor from at the engine bay or in the cab if I have AUX 6 "on".
Normal use is to have both the AUX 6 switch and the switch at the compressor are both in the off...
I completed the install a couple of weeks ago. It went fairly smooth, with the only issue being the positioning of the compressor on the bracket. The holes on the compressor and bracket were probably about a 1/4" off but I was able to get it mounted without too much issue by inserting each...
Alright, got them corrected!
Amp Research Tech Support sent me a troubleshooting document, and at first it appears to just be a re-stated summary of the torque sequence (which I did again to no avail), but then they highlighted a comment at the very bottom of the document I had missed that...
None at all, if you don't unplug it, I don't see how it would be physically possible. I am pretty sure the instructions show it unplugged as well. Just take your time, that is by far the hardest part of the entire installation. Patience is key as these taps are tiny...
Just make sure the...
I ordered one during the Black Friday sales. I figured it was worth a shot as I only paid ~$300 delivered, and I will be installing with a Barnes 4WD bracket. I probably won't install until after Christmas though. I will jump back on here and give me thoughts at that time.
Yeah, I had checked the movement as well before installing the motors, and they retracted properly when given power the first time. I'll get them sorted out, just taking some time...
Alright, finally got done with round 2/3 on installing the positaps. The only positive I can say about that part, it gets easier the more you have to do it, and now the steps are working.
I tried to follow the installation steps as closely as possible using your advice among others. I was...
I just went through this recently, and while I didn't ever have the gap/whistle I had read about it here before I went to place the hardtop back on. What I did was install the rear shell, then I left the plates bolts just loose enough to give me some play while installing the center panel...
With the RC steps, you would still be able to use anything that connects to the OBD port. The AMP steps use the OBD port so you would need a splitter to use anything else.
Correct, and when the original vendor has vanished I would just be fighting Asurion for some other replacement for weeks while out a compressor. I am probably just going to pull the trigger on the Rough Country around black friday (assuming they are still able to sell the compressor next month...
At least with Rough County, I feel like they might handle the warranty better than a 3rd party Amazon warranty; could be a bad assumption. I presume I will be able to get at least 10% off the RC somewhere by Black Friday, and at that level, the price will match the Amazon version that is more...
