VA4WDA Earth Day Trail Clean-Up This Weekend
For Earth Day, the Virginia 4-Wheel Drive Association (VA4WDA) is hosting a trail clean-up on April 20th.
The group will be cleaning up Bald Mountain Trail which is one of the closest trails to us here in Hampton Roads. These trails are tight with lots of branches that pinstripe the vehicles. The group will be cleaning the trails, cutting limbs, clearing brush, and installing new signage.
This is a trail I have personally driven on about 5 times now and I believe it desperately is overdue for something like this! If you have some time this weekend and want to explore this trail while also making it better for future use, you can join the VA4WDA. They have camping reserved at no cost and will be serving a dinner on Saturday night.
I am a member of VA4WDA but I won't be able to make it because of a commitment I have for an event at school, but if you have some time and feel like helping out then please consider it.
Here is the email they sent out:

- If you plan to trail ride on Sunday, you must pack up your campsite before taking off for the trails.
- We need a head count so be sure to let us know if you plan to join us. ([email protected] or [email protected]).

Let’s show our support for the land we use by performing some well-needed maintenance. This is one step closer to keeping our Public Lands Open!
