I've come across an issue with my wipers (I've seen that it is a common problem from this forum) and wanted to know whether anyone else experiences it with their Everglades...

When I put my wipers on low continuous they revert to intermittent (or stop completely) after about 40 seconds...which ain't great in a downpour or snow storm...darn scary the first time it happened to me whilst on the highway...high speed constant seems to slow down over the first minute too.

Anyone else?

Weird. It's been raining pretty hard here the last couple days and haven't had any issues like that with my wipers. I'll test them again if I go out today and look for anything out of the normal.

This is my first vehicle with any of the auto-sensing wipers. I have not noticed this issue yet.

Went to dealer who says that "Broncos are equipped with smart windshield wiper motors...protection features prevent damage to the wiper motor in case of overheating, operation with dry windshield, or obstructions to the wiper blade (snow, ice etc...) In such conditions, the wiper motor will temporarily reduce its speed and/or reduce area of cleaning until condition in no longer present"

So, in short, the very conditions which require wipers are actually going to cause them to slow down???

Spoke to Ford Canada who said exactly the same thing...I suggested that this design was a major safety issue and they certainly didn't disagree!
