If anyone needs a 1.25” wheel spacer, I have three left over from a ham radio antenna install on the spare tire mount. Hit me up, free. I’m in northern CO.

If interested with what i did, used this mount: Here
It’s a Jeep antenna mount that has the exact same bolt pattern as Bronco, then the wheel spacer moves the spare tire out to give room for the antenna.

I want to add a similar bracket now. I'd be interested in having a spacer on hand for it. I'm in Boulder and could probably make the drive up sometime this week.

I drive through Boulder in the morning and afternoon every week day. We can make that work.

@Raptor18 I live and work in Boulder. PM me, we can make something happen for sure if that's the case.

@Raptor18 Clean install...thanks for sharing the idea!

I could use one of those spacers for the same idea. I'm studying for my license right now. Good job finding the bracket. I'm in Windsor.
I'm interested in seeing your radio mount and wiring also if you have that set up put together.

@Mike1976 sure. This weekend is a busy one for me, maybe next?

What's the most common radio type people are using on trails? GMRS, CB, HAM
I have a shortwave license, but it seems like overkill for trails. I used CB in my last rig.

@Harumph It goes group by group. There is a lot of CB but GMRS seems to be taking hold.
The raptor groups in the past use rugged radios and frequencies, the people that didn’t want to fork over the money for a rugged buy a beofang (sp?), and program the rugged frequencies.
It’s technically not legal to use a ham for GMRS, but you can buy a new ham from a place like gigaparts and get the MARS/MURS mod to open up the radio. Then program the GMRS freqs (with correct power level…)and Rugged radio freqs to cover all the bases except CB.

@Raptor18 I'll look at Rugged. Do handhelds work well enough? Not sure where I'd mount a radio. Grab handle mount at the center console might work.

@Harumph I added a pic of the dash mount to the main post.

@Raptor18 Looks good! This makes me think I "need" a radio with a removable face.

Does the faceplate block much of your view? I considered mounting an Ipad Mini on the dash to run the on x app. The XY looks to block quite a lot of my forward view. Maybe not really a big deal after all.

@Harumph Not too bad, I’m 6’4” so anything blocked by the radio is mostly hood. The rear view mirror in these things are far worse.
An iPad mini is definitely bigger than the radio display, it might be a bit much.

Do you have any spacers available still? How much are you selling them for? I need one for a ham radio antenna mount solution. Also, do you ship to California?
