[Official] 150K Bronco Reservations Received Already

I guess I was overly optimistic and was looking for more than 230k. even if all the reservations were executed that puts them behind the Ford Edge from last year (241k sold) and barely half the Rav4 at 450k sold. they'll have to convert better than 70% to crack the top 25 vehicles sold in America. Doesn't everyone offroad?

Ford has quoted they will be able to do up to 600 a shift, 2 shifts a day, 6 days a week with 2 Saturdays on, 1 Saturday off. So between 6,000-7,200 a week. Of course thats at full speed. Not counting any line breakdowns, part shortages, maintenance and repairs, waste, and more. If they can keep a steady pace of between 20-25k a month I would be a happy camper.

Even if only 70% of the reservations convert to orders and the current reservation trend remains (eliminating duplicates and people who decide to wait) that is still 163,000 Broncos (ROM) sold by 12/31/2020. Badlands would be most prevalent at 45K, followed by Wildtracks at 28K (Skewed since Bronco6G data shows a high percentage of those reporting and we know that number is fixed) For First Edition reservations, those models will only make up 4% of the population and every new order converted will drop that percentage (CAPT Obvious statement).

Yep, it went to the dealers. I actually got a $5.00 credit for a “small business” purchase on my American Express. Not sure if they have to pay some or all to Ford at some point or not, but that would help explain why the changing dealers issue arose. They would have to move that payment as well.

That's exactly why I have both reservations. MAS told me on an F150 they could save between 6-12k over dealers price. Not sure if that is true or not. Of course, that does not reflect delivery, tax, and other fees associated. I do know of one co-worker that said she bought an Explorer through MAS and saved 3k instead of her dealership. Now, she want's to trade it in for a Bronco. Not sure how you deal a "trade in" through MAS since you are bypassing the dealer

They have an on site location in Germany that does trade ins. I’m just selling my truck outright when I get back to put towards principle then refinance.

Looking at some of the Tesla Model 3 reservation groups, only around 30% ended up converting to sales. Elon Musk said there are around 200k reservations for that truck thing they will build. Who knows how many will convert. I don't put a lot of stock in reservations, but it's good marketing and hits the "get one before it's too late" area of our reptilian brains.

I bet I’m overly optimistic in my 60% converting to actual orders. Less than 50% is probably going to be more accurate.

From 1966-1969: 22.5 Mustangs were sold for every Bronco.
From 2016-2019: 2.5 Jeep Wranglers were sold for every Mustang.

346K Mustangs were sold in 2016-2019. That is less than the AVERAGE PER YEAR 1966-1969. And remember that Mustang is (I believe) the #1 selling sports car.

Tastes in types of vehicles have changed dramatically.

If I heard correctly, it is speculated that roughly half of produced vehicles will be made for special orders while the other half will be made for dealerships. If that is true, and they are able to produce 500 a day it would still take over 15 months from the beginning of production to catch up to today's orders. That's if 40% of these orders fall off.

But you have to remember +200k of those reservations are not subject to the echo chamber of this forum and the constant panic of not being able to change dealers/models/doors, etc. I am willing to wager that the majority of them are buyers with single reservations. I am actually surprised by the forum poll that there are not more double reservation holders

I said the same. people not on this list aren't driven by all of the speculation and false info. Most of those people likely wouldn't even think to reserve more than one if they only plan on buying one.

If they have that much demand, it should be 24-7 (3 shifts) and possibly output at another plant. Ford is in the business to make vehicles that make them money. They've never had this much demand for a vehicle and they need to capture that and not let it subside.

They can hire more workers & it's up to the workers if they want to work additional shifts/etc.

Once up to full speed their production goal is ~1100 units a day, after adding a shift. And their is talk of adding Saturday as well. This 1100 a day is for a mix of 2/4 door Bronocs AND ranger. Reservations are going to take a while.
