I received a 01/03 build date email on 10/28/21 - "We are excited to let you know your 2022 Bronco Badlands™ 4 Door has been scheduled for production. Your vehicle is scheduled to be built the week of January 3, 2022."
My two door outer banks has the same build date, too excited.

I hear you. I just read today if Ford sold it’s Rivian stock shares, it would convert into 13 billion in cash. I will NEVER understand why Ford could not adapt on the fly for the two door models and move them out with a soft top. It’s not like a soft top on a utility vehicle has never been previously used. Plain dumb.
Simply put, their top supplier is Webasto or Bestop. Neither one has the capacity to on the fly build mass production levels of a 2dr soft top. Likely would take over a year of planning to increase capacity to meet demand.
So expect 2023 or 2024, IMO

I was told last Wednesday I was previewing so hoping this is the week 🤞

7/14 6:30 am res.
2 dr, 2.7, SAS, sig lights, big bend, mod bumper.
I just placed my order this past week and was told there are ~50 ’22 orders in front of me. I asked what their allocation was for January but he said he didn’t know. I’m not sure if he really didn’t know, or if he just didn’t want to answer me.

Any rule of thumb to guesstimate a particular dealers allocation based on certain metrics (# of open orders, size of dealership, etc)? Sounds like there is a bit of randomness involved in how Ford allocates but trying to put my #50 in context in terms of average number of broncos running through the dealership each month.

No way for any of us to be able to tell you this. My purveyor of vehicles (see what I did there ;)) has 16 Bronco allocations combined for the month of January and February. I guess he is considered a pretty large dealership in northeastern Ohio, but none of that info helps you. One thing I do know is that there is no way your dealer doesn't know his or her allocation for at least the first month or two of 2022. It is a rolling number for the year, but would still think they at least know for the first month or two. Mine knew a month ago for Jan and Feb.

The first couple times i asked about January allocation he completely ignored the question via email, then his last note said “not sure on January allocation”. He’s in charge of all the Bronco ordering so he has to know, seems weird he wouldn’t tell me. I’ll ask him again after this week when January builds get scheduled.

I would love to hear this answer.
As I have been"told" that I an number 24 of 30 orders and that my dealership has only had 3 viewings to date(11/2/21) With not one sellable delivery.
2 mannequins on site though.
My reservation was really late 3/10/21 but if they are that far down the Ford production list I am surely in line for a 2023.

He knows. For some crazy ass reason dealers protect that information like it were the holy grail. Not quite certain why they act like it is a trade secret. It's like they are afraid you are going to realize they have a small Johnson by telling you the answer. My guy is very forthcoming and yet he still gets hinckey about it some times. They might not want you to know because it may reveal that by having 50 in front of you, you have a long wait at their dealership and he might be afraid of you taking your business elsewhere. Speculation on my part, but makes sense.
Btw, I mean no offense to the quality dealers on here and elsewhere because there are plenty i.e. mine.

I’m new to this whole bronco scene but its just so odd the lack of transparency. Seems to me he’d save himself a lot of time/effort if he just sent periodic emails to the group with orders on file at the dealership with misc updates. He also wouldn’t answer any questions on the raptor (will they get one, is it spoken for, etc).

Is there any downside to putting orders in at more than one dealership and just cancelling one after you get built? They only took a $500 refundable deposit from me.

Not really a downside, but some people on here would get riled up because if you do that and abandon one of the orders, you won't really be able to cancel it per se. You can tell your dealer you want to cancel, they can give you your deposit back, but they will very likely keep the order and sell it for potentially an elevated price and that makes people hot on this forum, like really hot. Quite frankly though that is not your problem, my problem or their problem ultimately. Many people have put in duplicate orders, I would just suggest that if you are going to do it that you get a better feel for the dealers situation before you do rather than just going from the frying pan in to the fire, but you don't need me telling you that. Any which way you cut, you are in for a wait based on just getting on the bus now, but you can lessen the wait to some extent by finding a dealer with not a ton of orders and a decent allocation, but that might be somewhat of a unicorn at this point.

nobody knows but 50 back you are going to be waiting quite awhile regardless of how big the dealership is. My dealer only got 34 for 21 my.

it’s not a huge dealership but they’ve been around a long time so who knows. My “I’ll be happy if I get it by date” is 4th of July. I know that’s probably overly optimistic but hoping production ramps up and commodity constraints are lessened 🤷‍♂️
