I had held off commenting, but will admit at first notion of this I was not happy. However having just received a very cool ford blue and black bronco pack bag at the front door this morning that I purchased online, I better get what Ford might've been going for and will hold off bailing on a 1st edition until I see the actual interior in it 1st.
Some thoughts:
1) I really think with this being an iconic model for Ford they thought the Ford blue and black interior would both be cool and brand savvy to its roots in Ford's iconic blue. Maybe I'm wrong, but I could see them doing this for this reason. Ive also noticed the blue and black theme being strung throughout their offerings in shirts, hats, adventure bags, etc.
2) If indeed this color theme was going to be the theme utilized in the high dollar first edition model I wish Ford had done two things:
a) chosen exterior colors that wouldve lended to the interior appearance. I.e. grays, black, white, etc. Should not offer red or orange as two of the only four exterior colors offered, as they really do not go with the interior.
b) they should've disclosed this at reservation time so people knew what they were reserving. This would've both limited the blow back that they are receiving and would've stopped those not interested in the interior from reserving an edition that they wouldn't have reserved if they had known of this interior and hence blocking someone else who wouldve wanted it from getting to do so.
I'm still holding onto my reservation for now until I see the interior, but guess I will have to go with area 51 or cactus gray as i just dont see the red or orange looking good with this interior color combo.
