I had held off commenting, but will admit at first notion of this I was not happy. However having just received a very cool ford blue and black bronco pack bag at the front door this morning that I purchased online, I better get what Ford might've been going for and will hold off bailing on a 1st edition until I see the actual interior in it 1st.

Some thoughts:

1) I really think with this being an iconic model for Ford they thought the Ford blue and black interior would both be cool and brand savvy to its roots in Ford's iconic blue. Maybe I'm wrong, but I could see them doing this for this reason. Ive also noticed the blue and black theme being strung throughout their offerings in shirts, hats, adventure bags, etc.

2) If indeed this color theme was going to be the theme utilized in the high dollar first edition model I wish Ford had done two things:

a) chosen exterior colors that wouldve lended to the interior appearance. I.e. grays, black, white, etc. Should not offer red or orange as two of the only four exterior colors offered, as they really do not go with the interior.

b) they should've disclosed this at reservation time so people knew what they were reserving. This would've both limited the blow back that they are receiving and would've stopped those not interested in the interior from reserving an edition that they wouldn't have reserved if they had known of this interior and hence blocking someone else who wouldve wanted it from getting to do so.

I'm still holding onto my reservation for now until I see the interior, but guess I will have to go with area 51 or cactus gray as i just dont see the red or orange looking good with this interior color combo.

Agree to disagree. My thoughts are that they are continuing to listen and read this forum and that continuously stating this reality is reinforcing their original decision. Whether you think it is or not it definitely plays its role.

Glad to know you are also against the Blue Death interior. You are either for it or against it. There is no lukewarm neutral ground.

As for sharing opinions that is great. That is what the forum is here for. To learn and share in hopes of influencing listeners and readers. Like you said it is not about reactions. But those reactions tend to but not always speak for the worth of the post. Just want you to know and understand that it is truly not beneficial anymore since we already know the reality. Yes your point is true and on topic. It has come and gone and no longer demands repetition.
I understand your viewpoint, but unfortunately disagree. You believe contributions to this thread have a much greater impact than I do to Ford’s decision on the matter. You are telling me to suppress my contributions in this thread simply because they don’t align with what you want.

In all seriousness, I do recommend starting an online petition for this change as I believe that will be closer to what you are trying to accomplish in this thread. Opposed to a discussion.

Lastly, determining the worth of someone’s post based on the reactions they receive is an unfortunate side effect of the modern social media age. The most popular thought isn’t always the right one and how many likes it receives or attention it gets should not be used to determine its “worth“.

As many others in this community, I will continue to post my thoughts and opinions regardless if it’s the popular one. I am being respectful to members and staying on topic.

Great post. Thanks for informing.

For what its worth, from what I can tell, Navy Pier is blue and gray, not blue and black.

You can contribute all you want. Not telling you to do anything. Only suggesting. It is your freedom to post your opinion.

If anyone on here would like to get an online petition going that would be perfect. Not certain how to do that to be honest.

Did not claim your opinion to be right or wrong. Only claiming it to be beating the dead horse into the ground.

You can continue to post as said all along. Popular or unpopular. But please ask anyone on this thread that wants Ford to change the interior if continuing to say they could not change it is helping anything. The aim of the post may not be trying to but the fact is that it is defending the Blue Death. Our feedback has been confirmed to be appreciated by Ford. We will not know the worth of our contributions if we do not ask for change.

Gray/black whichever it is

The items I'm seeing utilize black more often than gray, but you could be right on the interior. But it doesn't change my thinking they were kinda going for an iconic ford look with almost a ford blue being incorporated with a compatible 2nd color for the interior and maybe general theme for 1st edition models.

Yeah it seems the seats and the door panels look to be blue and gray, with black in other places where other interiors have black.

Agree, on the iconic Ford look. And I think it looks great.

Are you going to post a pic of the backpack? Wondering if this is for First edition reservers, or something else? Now I have my hopes up expecting a package from Ford lol.

Hi,
Ford sent you a bag as a thank you for reserving a first edition? Am I understanding this correctly? Do you have a photo to share so we can all understand what Ford was going for?
Reserved launch day and haven't gotten so much as an email from my dealer (granted it's not and FE reservation).

As I've posted before. I personally don't have a first edition because I can't even buy one (since I'm in Canada). With that said, those who do have one should be thankful for getting one; however, I do feel it wouldn't hurt to have 2 interior choices in a First Edition.

Now back to my point. Most in this thread are saying I want this, I want that in my FE, well, that's fine, but I also want options in my Badlands. I know this is a FE thread but when saying stuff like "make this saddle/black a FIRST EDITION option" really irks me because you guys already have the FE, why should all of you get the best interior option as well, when you already have a unique interior color (whether you like it or not).

I want the saddle brown/black interior as well. This should be an option for all trim levels, because in my opinion it's quite classy and looks like it was well thought out. Just the same as the vinyl white/gray option.

For the record, I don't like the navy pier/blue either, and why Ford doesn't have a black or charcoal interior is beyond me. Just makes no sense.

Anyway, I hope you guys get more options but I feel it's kind of selfish saying give me this interior when lots of us lower trim guys want it to.

Might not be speaking for all of us but we want all trims to get what each person wants. You are the customer and should be able to pick and choose what you want when you are purchasing it. Otherwise why pay for it?

Also have this question. @Bt_ostate Did you buy it? Was it sent free/unexpectedly?

If they're perforated, it begs the question why cooled seats aren't even an option.
Ford apparently can’t even figure out how to get actual A/C vents into the second row - how do you propose they’d be able to figure out strapping a fan to your @$$!? ?
