My husband proposed to me in Alaska. They were happening at night… the thing about Alaska is that it’s cloudy- a lot. I’m going back this next September. Fingers crossed it won’t be so cloudy!!!

How magical ! I have yet to go to Alaska. 48 states, when I go to last frontier, I’ll move.

I mostly see them in Minnesota on Lake Superior, all the time, but heavy in winter when the clouds are clear.

I wish I had a better shot of the pilot house! Screens everywhere . 3 radar screens, ECDIS screen (electronic chart), repeater ECDIS, 2 gps screens, gyro repeater screen, rudder indicators, throttle indicators, blah blah blah.

I was referring to the big clear screens (windows) where you get to look at the views. We load up background images on our monitors and dream of being somewhere else. You get to live it. I am sure those other computer screens are nice as well... thanks for sharing!

Ahh, re-reading I see what you mean. Lot of replies fast and just skim read. It’s an incredible view, but so many of you working from home or near home…see your families all the time. That’s not to be taken for granted. Your loved ones everyday is a better view than my career will ever afford. Be where your feet are, that’s one hell of a dream.

That is an awesome photo. Always had an interest in the big ships. Been all over MI and seeing them on the lakes is always a sight and a treat!!!
