Bad news about MIC 2.0 quality after a few days

Updated photo from this AM. My hands aren't Samsquatch in real life, that's just the zoom level. You can see the fuzzy look on the edge, and that wasn't there when I picked it up 5 days ago. You REALLY have to be looking for it though.

Bad news, folks. This is a MIC 2.0 top built 10/1, delivered 4 days ago.

Top looked excellent at pickup. Did not notice any issues.. 4 days later, I notice I can see the old issue returning. Have not notified Ford yet.

Check your MIC tops CLOSELY on the rearmost panel by the windows. Appears to be pulling apart a bit.

I'll have a lot more photos and any other misc info coming shortly.

I used to work for a tier 3 supplier that sold plastic resin to injection molders. When I look at the degradation/ your location (Phoenix) I wonder whether UV stabilization is the issue. Looking at Webasto's website, It looks like their experience is with sunroofs and retractable hard tops. An MIC hardtop is bombarded with direct UV directly--- no tinted glass to reflect radiation. A plastic part needs to either reflect the direct sunlight or have heavy UV stabilization. Often with a black/gray part this stabilization is achieved with a heavy loading of carbon black pigment. I have seen the MIC at my dealer. It does look lighter than the Jeeps parked in my neighborhood.

My blend date is tomorrow and this won't stop me from taking delivery. God willing, I'll have the dealer document the unfinished edges and I'll be mixing up some clear epoxy ASAP.

The worst part will be explaining my new car shenanigans to the Mrs.

That's a nice fallback. The Tremors are nice! They also use about the same orange as the Badlands for the trim color.

Wow a coupe of months ago I was told if I didn't switch to a soft top my Bronco would not be built until 2022 so I switched from a 2 door Mic top to a 4 Door soft top and with-in a week I got a built date and a Vin (no turning back), then a few weeks later I seen that the 2.0 Mics were being made and the 2 door broncos were starting to roll out and at first I was a little upset but I kept telling myself that the 4 door soft top is a better fit for me and my family, and yes I am excited my Bronco is Built, shipped and on it's way, now after this thread blowing up I am really Glad about my decision but I also feel bad for all the hard core 2-door members that have been waiting for dirt mountain replacements and the new builds that are not satisfied as well, the only thing I get out of all this is why doesn't ford sell the 2-door with a soft top? and the 2.7 with a manual?

Yeah ford is my favorite make so lol. But if the trd pro is cheaper I’ll consider. Same for the zr2. I just won’t buy another fiat product.
