Question for this Houston area crew.. have you ever had a vehicle that you had ceramic coated? I’m looking for a recommendation of a local shop you might trust doing this to your vehicles. My current car has had so many scrapes and chips despite the promise of it being superior paint I appreciate any thoughts you have to share!

Can’t recommend a specific detailer for this but I would say that ceramic coatings are not capable of preventing scrapes and chips. You would need a paint protecting film for that level of protection.

A ceramic coating does the job of a wax (sheds water and prevents water spots, etc.) but it lasts much longer.

It is similar to a vinyl wrap. It is a clear film that can be installed in areas most likely to be damaged like door jambs, etc. It can be pricey especially if you do the entire vehicle which is probably overkill. I think there are some threads here that discuss pricing.

I'm Casey, I live in Memorial City and work in Katy. This will be my first Bronco, but not my first Ford. I promised myself after the 2004 Bronco prototype, that if Ford ever reintroduced it I would do whatever it took to get one. I was just a kid then, but I couldn't be more excited about making that dream come true. I'm a 7/14 reservation with a 4 door iconic silver outer banks with Sas, lux, 2.7, MIC and tow. If I get it this time next year, I will be happy. I ordered through Helfman Ford in Stafford, we have used them for years for all of our personal and company vehicles and they are excellent.
