Big Bend and Base Grilles

Hi! Does anyone know if these grilles are interchangeable? I may be getting a BB but would like the Base Grille one day instead. Wonder if they can be ordered one day from Ford?

Yes, they are interchangeable, and I'm sure they will be available sometime from Ford. You'll find them sooner from a forum member though i bet once everyone starts to take delivery of their broncos.

could just paint the BL grille black if that's what you like. I do love the base grille though.

Check with your dealer or parts counter. I saw recently someone here swapped out their grille for a Wildtrak grille, so parts are available.

They may not be compatible due to the lighting differences. That said, the Wildtrack grill is similar to the base grill while housing the upgraded lights like the Badlands.

Wonder if Base and Big Bend are identical in size, lighting configuration? Decided on BB and want Base Grille. Thanks!

Haven't taken measurments but the fact that the BB is available with both the base lighting and the "signature" lighting tells me that the geometry of the lights are the same. Mounting points and grill size between trims won't differ. So, I think you'll be okay to change to whatever grill you want.

In the end, we're still in the beginning of all of this so it will take brave souls like yourself to test things out, but I don't anticipate grills to be a problem.

From my understanding, the only limitation to swapping grills is the camera. Some have just the front, while those with High and Lux have the 360 cameras. It would be doubtful if I could put a Base grill on my OBX with High, so I’m going WT and will paint it.

Install the camera in the new grill. I would think it's plug and play since you have to detach the wire harness to remove the grill

There are 2 different WT grills based of number of cameras. I’m not sure that the lower would have be holes for the higher trim.

I don't think the Big Bend has a front camera, does it? My hope is to just order a Base Grille and just simply swap it out easily from my Big Bend grille with no camera or wiring modifications. Just unscrew and swap!

Base to Big Bend you should be ok. I’m thinking that all Broncos have the front camera/hole. You shouldn’t have to splice or cut wires but just unhook the camera and stick it back in the harness for the new one. All of this is best guess from what I’ve read and watched so far.

Make sure that you order the letters too. We are finding out that they are NOT included with the purchase of a new grill. @flip verified by opening a box.
