Just taking your door off while driving is a safety risk but the Bronco's modularity encourages it.

It doesn't surprise me one bit that this relatively cheap "hack" exists. I'm not planning to buy it, I'm just here to fight back against this forums creeping antagonistic reputation

That is a poor comparison. Taking the doors off isn't going to trigger a warning light on your dash or potentially void your warranty simply because someone doesn't want to touch a button that is there exactly to disable that feature. I think the antagonistic nature of forums is present everywhere but made far worse by the Bronco delays which should be understandable.

My point was that some people don't care about the risk of losing their warranty. Just as others wouldn't care about the risk of death or being crippled because they tool off their doors.

People do risky things all the time. I take it that a warranty matters a lot to you since you brought it up. For those who want to use forscan or this device, or remove other safety features ... they clearly care less about about warranty. And that's OK. It's their prerogative. It's their car

This device works by remembering your selection and electronically "pressing" the button automatically, if required. By design, it will not trigger a warning light or void your warranty, so nothing to worry about from that respect.

IMO, this is a safer way to change the behavior than using FORScan. That being said, I will be making other modifications via FORScan, but will likely purchase this to eliminate ASS.

found the youtube video someone mentioned here, just disconnect one wire under the dash, 2 second fix. it disconnects the trailer hitch brake lights, and kills start/stop

Nice! This is the same behavior that you get with disabling it with ForScan. I used ForScan on my Raptor with no issues. I might just do this with the Bronco until the full ForScan list comes out for the Bronco.

Thanks for sharing. Auto stop and start doesn't bother me enough to pay $100 to make it remember my last setting. For those that hate the current set up, this is a great fix. I'm also never a fan of taking apart the plastic parts of my dash... for obvious reasons. Would be nice if this was installed without risking breaking some plastic snap or something. Glad to see more aftermarket items for our trucks...now just need the truck

Auto start-stop is getting better though, it is worlds ahead of where it was even just 5 years ago.

Oh man, don't get me started. I think the new truck ads are funny. The "fold down ladder" because people lack the basic fitness to climb into the bed of their $60K truck. LOL.

Now pushing a button is too much for folks. Feathering the brake at a stop to eliminate the start-stop is just too much effort.

Comes in handy when you have a 6” lifted truck and making multiple trips with loads.

im in just because autostop is the most annoying thing invented. this thread went off the deep end for a memory setting...

• do you want something that remembers what you pushed and reapply every time?
• can be removed easily, requires no modifications, and you can remove before service if you prefer.
• deployed to a ton of other vehicles without issue.
• is overpriced for what it is but to some is valuable.
• May save wear and tear on the second starter, battery, etc.

Everyone keeps saying it's pushing "one button"? Maybe I am missing something, but in our Bronco once you push the button on the dash to turn it off then you get a prompt on the gauge screen asking if your certain you want to turn it off and you have to press the "OK" button the steering wheel as well. It is an inconvenience that we don't want to deal with so I'm interested in turning it off permanently as soon as there is a decent option.
I'm not lazy or a millennial by any means, but I do hate that all this modern tech has been forced on us. I would also prefer not to have lane keeping or any of that other stuff that just adds complexity and cost to a vehicle.

I had their product on my ranger and then my F150. Solid product. I highly recommend.

Because it has a flaw in that if your sitting on a downhill grade waiting to turn across traffic you can't always creep

I would check with your dealer if this is a big deal. Ford is currently crediting some customers $50 for the auto start/stop delete when ordering.

Only on F-150 orders.

...and I also discovered that you can disable it when you want at a stop by putting pressure on the steering wheel. I’ve forgotten about this feature and it isn’t that annoying any longer.

What kind of pressure are you talking about? like turning the wheel to one direction to put tension on the steering rack?

I have heard an LED night light plugged into the inverter outlet will also disable the auto-s/s. For a couple of bucks at the dollar store this seems like a pretty practical hack…

Do you know why this light being plugged in has anything to do with the way S&S works? Another thought: I'd be afraid it would kill my battery or something if the LED light stays on when i leave the car.
