First post.. there has been a once in a 100 year worldwide pandemic causing supply issues for everything so its kinda dopey to get really pissed at Ford for delays.. I ordered a Black Diamond pre March 19 so will be getting a MY 2022 with 2021 price lock.. Dealers may screw you but I don't think its likely, they make most of the revenue on used cars and servicing.. Bright spot is MY 2022 will likely fix many of the bugs common with first year models.. just my 2 cents
Are you looking to get flamed, because this is how you get flamed.

Who would be stupid enough to cancel a First Edition? Especially at this point. The price just went up considerably for re-sale. Hey, all idiots wanting to cancel their FE, I will gladly take ALL of your reservations.
Actually, keep cancelling them! lets get that built number back to the original 3500!

How would you feel if you sold your car (the same week my Bronco was built) and even figured in time for delays "just incase" to find out that your not getting your Bronco till maybe four-five fucking months later, if there isn't any other issues?
I'd feel stupid, not one thing has gone to Ford's timeline and you thought your Bronco was going to be the one that showed up close to on time?

This will probably get lost in the mess...but I have a VIN and a 4 door MIC base that is/was scheduled for Aug 30 week build...anyone know if there will be anyway I can switch to a soft top to avoid another two-three month wait my car situation currently is not ideal or am I just f'ed because of the VIN alreadybeing issued?
I’m in the exact same boat you are. Same build week and everything. I am going to try and talk to my dealer about switching, but I doubt they will unless Ford approves it.

Small point considering the above news but still a mild concern: What if the color of our Bronco for us that ordered 2021 such as Cactus Gray, is not offered in 2022. Will we have to change?
If you have a MY21 color you will still be able to get it in MY22. I don't see that changing for any reason.

Even if you swapped your WT to a soft top you've still got other sins, like that sasquatch package, that's going to keep it from getting built.
Understood, but they're making Wildtrak's with soft tops left and right as Demo's for Dealers. My dealer here in town literally just got one delivered this week as demo and told me I can test drive it, but can't change my current order to match it. It just seems silly at this point, no?

Yep, feel like I slid in just before the window closed. 8/5 build date... Only question - what MIC top is on my Bronco?
You already know, they are replacing all of them. The new tooling isn't in place so no chance ones rolling off the line this week have the improved top.

I 100% agree with you on that point, but a lot of this has been silly (or other more appropriate descriptive words).

So I contacted FMC today and attempted to get an answer regarding the hardtop Broncos built after 7/21 (including my specific Bronco 1FMDE5CP2MLA76229 built on 8/5). I also asked when my Bronco would ship.

@Ford Motor Company, do you want to know what they told me?

They proceeded to blame a February earthquake in Japan, the global pandemic, and a shortage of CHIPS - stating that deliveries were delayed because of a lack of CHIPS!!! I know better than that and you know better than to make excuses at this point. More to the point, they had no idea whether or not my Bronco was affected by the hardtop issue and your FAQ doesn't address hardtop production in the first 2 weeks of August.

I would hope that you address this @Ford Motor Company.
It sounds like your were shunted to the F150 and super duty complaint line where those are legitimate reasons for delays!
I’m an 8/4 build and assume their FAQ means we will sit on dirt mountain - it doesn’t seem like they are going to be producing the improved MICs for a little while so they can’t be shipping August builds. I believe the July cutoff refers to shipped orders being recalled and they haven’t shipped MICs since that date when they proposed this solution.

I find it very hard to believe that they aren't already making V2 tops... That would not make much sense... Otherwise, how would they have any idea of what to project?
