Glad to know my dream $50k car will be sitting outside for months waiting a new top. As a Californian who prides themselves on taking care of their cars to protect their value, hopefully they can resolve this before it starts raining and my car loses it’s weather protection. And if the roof leaks then…

So to clarify. If no build date yet you are done until 2022 no matter the configuration??? Suck a fat one ford. Just lost a lifelong customer.

I know this is probably a long shot, but is there any possible talk of offering customers of the stranded bad batch Broncos the chance to switch out to a soft top? I would think that would help clear at least some of the backlog in the lot.
They will not pull specific vehicle from the “bad batch mountains”. All of them will go through the factory line again in Sept/Oct, all at once for the V2 Top replacement and QC.

Glad I ordered a Maverick to hold me over until this shitshow gets ironed out.

Interesting the date on the awareness communication letter says July 21. I wonder if that is because this letter applies only to Broncos that were shipped. Does that mean Ford stopped shipping any hard top Broncos made after 7/21? My build date was 7/22. Missed it by that much (if I'm right). I'm just speculating...

Ford Bronco 📣 Ford announces MIC hardtop solution (program 21B49): unscheduled orders will get MY2022, delivered & built Broncos will have tops replaced 1628774645116

Anyone know what this means for 8/9 build date people whose Broncos have been built?

Without revealing much, I can at least say someone with knowledge of the situation told me there was an entirely new process and new supplier for the basic hard top at least as early as around 30 days ago, but yeah, it seems this should have been ironed out a year ago at least.

Sorry to all those waiting. Stay patient if you can, but I understand the frustration.
New supplier?? Well... I think this is good news. Buh-bye Webasto 🖕

Well that's disappointing. I understand manufacturing processes under normal circumstances, but these aren't normal circumstances. Oh well, back to waiting.....

Wait... Ford is just NOW talking about a new design and new tooling....?
Have they just sat on their hands for the last 5 months, hoping the problem would fix itself?? I'm totally taken aback...
How long before they even have a new, tested and proofed roof in production?
VINless peeps will definitely get a MY22, but all those with a VIN (with held, parked trucks) will be getting a MY21 in 2022. I hate to say it, but that sucks to be in that group.
LOT rot will certainly be a concern.
I wonder how far they are in the process of the "redesign"

Your in Purgatory until October. That is the guesstimated timeframe its probably going to take to go through all those broncos sitting out in that field. They will either then put us out of our memory, or the all mighty machine will be cranked back on and you will get a new build date. Is what im guessing.
I honestly would dump that order if I was part of the sand lot crew at this point and put in a new order if I really wanted a Bronco down the line, I would not want any of those sitting out there which will now at least be months.
