Ford’s obviously not going to drop the whole Bronco project. But seeing as everything is going wrong, what is the worst possible scenario that’s going on/going to happen?
Worst thing that can happen is another C19 variant scare that shuts industries down again further delay production of any product.

Ford is not experiencing anything much different than other car manufacturers, RV manufactures, motorcycle/OHV manufacturers, boat manufactures….and the list goes on and on…..

Do you see the empty lots at ALL NEW CAR DEALERS? Why do you think the used car, boat, rv, motorcycle/ohv prices are so high?

This is not a Ford problem, this is a global problem!
Most businesses are suffering from supply chain and labor availability issues, but Ford very definitely has a major problem with Webasto, which supplies both the hard tops and soft tops for the Bronco.

Webasto is critical path for Bronco production, and that needs to be resolved definitively one way or another. I suspect there are as many lawyers involved in this resolution as there are executives, engineers, and production personnel.

They should just stop taking reservations until they are confident they can guarantee to fulfil orders within a respectable time frame (3-4 months after making reservation).

They are at risk of making the same mistake with the Maverick and shooting themselves in the foot.

The chip shortage is a much bigger issue than the tops. Show me links to other car manufacturers where they are communicating any better with customers. Heck, for that matter, show me any industry (Vehicles, TV’s, computers…) communicating with their customers.

Just this past few days I'm starting to lose confidence in Ford and my Bronco. I was a 7/14/2020 reservation, January order, 2-door Bronco has been "In production" since 7/15.

I'm ok with waiting but I'm starting to question the quality of the vehicle I'm about to get.

More communication from Ford would be helpful.
@Ford Motor Company has not been in this type of situation in a long time, and they have done a terrible job adapting to modern day communication. I get it that things have been difficult over the past year, but during that time communication has been flat. Hindsight has proven that they knew that they bit off more than they can chew, and are more concerned about how long we hold on, vs. how long it will take to be resolved. Everyone now knows that they launched 6 months too early, why not admit that, own it, and get it right.

Ford made it clear that they have plenty of chips, as they were expecting high demand on Bronco.

Worse case scenario, the bronco suffers the same fate as the last thunderbird revival, only a few years produced for a very niche group and then dead

Not a Ford apologist at all, but look at all they got right with the Bronco. A legit competitor to the wrangler and is getting rave reviews all over the place.
I’ve been as peeved as anyone else at the delays, but I have been living the Bronco life vicariously thru YouTube and man I want mine more than ever. Wife is seriously tired of me talking about it, so I come here to hear the stories of likeminded lunatics impatiently waiting alongside me.

The communication is atrocious, and I have said so before, and it is bad at other manufacturers, too. Chip supply is also a real issue, but it pales in comparison to the ongoing debacle at Webasto.

Dang some of you people are super negative.

My opinion? They’re shipping vehicles right now (albeit slowly, but it’s happening)… so nothing too dramatic should happen at this point beyond further delays.

Realistic worse case is the majority of the 2020 reservation holders don’t get their Bronco until 2023, and the painted tops get pushed back another year to 2024. I can also see Bronco dropping some of the unpopular features/trims (Big Bend, for example).
Honestly not taking this personal because I've got a Big Bend or order, but why would you say it's an unpopular trim? Is this your humble opinion or wtf? And while you're rolling, which other trims in addition to the BB are unpopular? Not trying to start shit (or f*ck it, maybe I AM!), but I don't know what data you could be using to come up with your observation. Enlighten us, please... with your 13th post. Without 6 cylinder Mustangs we would not have V8 Mustangs. They are the meat and potatoes so us folks who can afford or want a V8 have that option. Not everyone wants or needs a WildTrak even though they are cooler than shizzz!

Yes and no…they have plenty of chips to make vehicles is true; HOWEVER, not enough to fulfill orders. Case and point…most broncos ordered have a lot of “bells and whistles” and Ford is delaying the production to make Base 4dr soft ops for dealers….why? Because they use less chips. People who ordered lower level 4dr soft tops without the “bells and whistles” are getting their Broncos sooner.
