My PCM told me they would have to amputate because the sore has gotten gangrenous from pulling the scab off for so many months. Good thing I am getting an auto, need both arms for a manual. Might as well take a leg and an eye at this rate. Hard stop the first week of September and I go buy a used 1993 Full Size Bronco.

And I’m 100% ok with blaming Ford and having a major issue with Ford’s communication. But claiming an entry level planner position should be fired because they couldn’t schedule Broncos today is what I think is a little overboard.
No they should fire the genius who picked Webasto to handle the tops.

There is a lot of solid information (including pictures) from new bronco owners and insiders that the manufacturing issues at Webasto are more a result of quality issues of produced tops than a shortage of materials.

Hence, you may be able to crank out 300 tops a day, and if 50% end up on the scrap heep, then I suppose you could call that a pandemic related supply chain disruption ……but is it really?
Obviously the most visible and known issue is Webasto and the quality issue isn’t a COVID issue but…..

Malaysia is a huge chip producer and is currently talking about locking the country down due to COVID. I know we have been assured that chips don’t impact Bronco production but if the supply suddenly decreases by 50% what then?

The Webasto can’t be blamed on COVID but there are 15 other issues daily that probably are related in some way to the pandemic that we never hear about. I’m guessing part of the reason they don’t want to send out schedule updates for 5 weeks in the future is they really don’t know what the issues are going to be in 5 weeks and are trying to understand things better before they schedule that production then have to reschedule it in 3 weeks.

Well said. This whole product launch has been a Cluster Fuck since the opening day of reservations when their servers crashed. Even then they couldn't forecast volume and it has gone downhill ever since. Somehow we customers need to get the attention of Ford management and convey that this train wreck is unacceptable
I'd say before that with the reveal when they didn't put two and two together with a Certain Former White Bronco Owner's birthday.

What. A. Fucking. Joke. Imagine not being on this forum? You'd likely have no clue what was happening with your reservation/order.
This is the smartest take no one is mentioning. Fords transparency with this process, which is new to many of us, is exactly what is causing the reactionary stuff in the forum. Remove our ability to dial into internal vehicle visibility programs, track our own rail car, etc... & I think there would be little to no issue with what’s happening and how Ford is handling it. The instant gratification in us all is getting the better of us, when we just need to chill and wait. My 2 cents, piggy jar it, or toss it out.

It’s the tops, right? They don’t want pump out 24000 big bend stock units and the MIC issue is protracted.
The tops are a byproduct of failed management.

How is a $ 56 BILLION company unable to to put up a website to handle day one reservations, oversee the manufacture of a low tech part like the MIC roof or even keep the owners website up and running. It is a very bad look for the company.

Am I the only one that has issues signing into the my ford website?

I am sure every bit of that is true or probably true…..but it doesn’t inspire much confidence if the only people that should know, don’t know. So, back to waiting for any bit of good news.

Hard to judge without knowing what the cause is. If they are retooling the assembly line to fix known issues (grille whistling, panel improvements) maybe that’s not such a bad thing?
And next week is canceled so they can remodel the bathrooms. :rolleyes:

On a Brighter note, I received a new consolation gift from Ford in snail mail today. It was a replica of an EB oil filter filled with KY Jelly and a sticker that said “Stay Lubed”.

So now when we’re getting “Pumped” every Thursday it will be much less painful.

Edit: I just popped the top on the container and you’ll be happy to know it smells just like Pineapple Pizza!

I suspect very few people NEED a Bronco right now. Want and need are two very different things.
The new Bronco can literally assist with every need from physical shelter to self actualization.

Seems like a lot of quality issue to fix.. ABS glitches, Whistling Grills, Cheap ass Hardtops.

As for the Webesto issues, Ford should suck it up and just roll every Bronco out with a Soft Top with the option to swap it out for a Hard Top for free when they become avaible.
