Based on my experience it means it is built but not released, and they have already scheduled the shipping.What does it mean if they give us a delivery ETA but it doesn't show as being built?

What is the average amount of time required for “dealer prep” … after reaches the dealer and before we can pick it up?

Some you can pick it up same day. But they have to go through their post delivery inspections checking things over, making sure it's good to go. Some dealers will do a half ass job of it and tear all the plastic off w/o checking anything.

I am curious about that too. What the hell do they have to prep. It's not a used car. Give it one more look over, which I will give you 2hr, and then give me my damn bronco. Sad part is that with all the prepping they do they seem to be missing all the soft top and hard top issues

Prep in the shop should be quick. Quick check of fluids/tire pressures (should all be fine but they should check anyway) do a state inspection then have it cleaned/waxed. I think a lot of dealers use the prep as an excuse if they are busy with other deliveries or if they are taking awhile getting paper work together.

my dealer said that they will get an email when it's on the truck and on it's way to the dealership. My bronco is initially going by rail. They can prep it when I am there doing the paperwork. Shouldn't take too long since I am going through my credit union and not the dealership

Is there a difference between "produced" and "built"?
My dealer showed me that my Bronco was produced, but like many of you, I haven't received a built email. Produced must mean it's built but waiting on some commodity or something?

Yeah, I get you now, the full line theory means we'll be built early Monday. My mindset is still hoping they slipped through Friday and are in QC or getting the roof rack put on and will still ship this week.

It means to call your dealership and have them make sure that's correct.

Correction; The estimate that's on there is when it might get released from the plant. Not when it's getting shipped. @Desert_6G
