Over on the Raptor site we compiled a list of lightweight wheel options. Granted, this list is for the Raptor lug pattern but I am betting they also have options for the Bronco.

I'm all for adding lightness (Colin Chapman) but man those truck stars are ugly as sin!

The RRW wheels are more my style - wish they had weights listed on their site though. The ranger selections look pretty good.

I have the Truck Stars on my Raptor. LOL. I wanted light and easy to clean. They excel in those areas. Cosmetics, not so much.

We were not able to find the published weights or strengths on the factory wheels. The weights listed are from weighing the actual wheels ourselves.

Is it silly for me to consider larger diameter wheels and less tire wall to reduce the rolling weight of the bronco? Like maintaining overall diameter but increasing the wheel size to say 20" to drop weight for my day to day driving.

I've said it before, but any real offroading I'll be doing will be a planned trip as I have to travel, so I could see myself getting a second set of wheels+tires in a few years, and keeping the original to switch on for those trips. Plenty young enough to swap the wheels+tires for those times.

Typically smaller diameter rims and tires end up being lighter than 20" options. The best performing Bronco for daily driving and fuel economy is the base model with the 30" tires and 16" wheels, but that isn't the aesthetic we all want.

I really wish we had a major player or two, like Forgeline, that would jump over to the 17" forged off-road market. Most of those willing to do forged wheels for trucks cater to the bro-dozer 20"+ crowd. I'd love a set of 17"x8.5-9" forged wheels with some sense of style for my Badlands. Most of the aftermarket off-road wheels on the market are heavy, cast and garishly styled hot garbage.

Look for lighter tires. They will make more of a difference than lighter wheels as their rotating mass is further from the axle.

I’ve never run these, but the Firestone Destination AT2 are some of the lightest AT tires I’ve found in the search for my Tacoma. Their 285/70R17 are just. 41 pounds. The 265/75R16 should be perfect for a base with steelies.

These look sharp. Thought I’d definitely consider painting the center of my badlands alt wheels a bronzish.. matching well with the 51 I think.
i wonder what those weigh?
