The dealership ordered this in his name, for him with $100 deposit. He followed all of Ford's guidelines - reservation - ordering - and waiting thru all the delays. The dealership had people test driving his vehicle before he ever declined to pay the excessive price. I think Ford should get involved here. This dealership had bad intentions from the start of the process in 2020. Ford is trying a new system that allows and prefers customers to spec out a vehicle the way they want it and wait....however long that might be to take delivery of the vehicle. The dealership spit in Ford's face and crapped on the reservation holder. I know the importance of "getting it in writing", but I also honor and admire the the Golden "handshake" deal. He may not get his Bronco, but if Ford doesn't take some sort of action toward the dealership, I'd be extremely disappointed. 😳

Couldn't tell if this was a male or female from post, but it doesn't matter.

I’d call down the local media on the spot and give them a story , there dealership would be done . Wait over a year and pass up all kinds of vehicles and then get railroaded. Nope I’d be in jail!
Second this! They deserve a lot of bad publicity for such atrocious behavior

Ford should require final agreed sale price at the time of the order. Or a Ford brokered order price and MSRP to walk ins.
They can’t “require” it since dealerships are separate independent companies… but Ford did explicitly tell people to negotiate and agree on a price before placing their order… probably because they anticipated these types of dealer shenanigans.

Pretty crappy of the dealership, no doubt. That being said, she should have had an agreement in writing before placing her order.

Not a chance I would commit to a $50K+ purchase without a deal in writing. Whether it's for a car, house, anything.

I looked at their reviews both yesterday and today. Most of the ones left yesterday are now gone. There's also a few BS 5 star reviews from new accounts.
Reviews can be cleaned up by Google or Facebook if a business recieves a ton of 1 star or 5 star reviews in a short period from people that aren't customers. It prevents brigading like what is happening now.

I don't want to defend a dealer if they are being shitty but they may be right in saying we don't know the whole story.

The person that has been directly affected has every right to post a review....everyone piling up on the dealer does not.

There are many instances of businesses being blasted on reviews by internet brigades that don't know the whole story. The businesses are left with the bad reviews because a bunch of keyboard warriors went out of their way to try and bury that business. It's an abuse of the review system.

Same as padding your reviews with BS 5 stars from your friends.

I could post on this forum that a dealer, that I just didn't like, sold my Bronco to someone else (even if this never happened) and a ton of people would maliciously blast that dealer.

If I arrived at the dealer and saw they were letting others test drive a vehicle I special ordered I would have told them to eff off and walked out. Wouldn't have even made it to the finance office.

I’d like to think I’d do the same, however I really want this Bronco lol.

I’m hoping when mine arrives (whenever that may be) I can pick it up immediately so there’s no time for people to screw around in it.

You know at this point with games like this and the problems that ate starting to surface I'd have no problem bumping my reservation or a few years. Makes me so glad I already had it in my mind to wait it out. There is no factory testing that will reveal real world usage. That's what uncovers the issues.

Very true. I’m a very impatient person, who has never factory-ordered a vehicle; always bought new or used right off the dealership lot. But I do agree that the real-world testing is bringing to light some issues (albeit, most have been pretty minimal in the grand scheme of things), which should be resolved/improved in future models.

Seems like this dealership is getting all the negative reviews removed.

When my wife and I went to pick up her 4runner a month ago we were sitting waiting on paperwork with one of the key fobs in my pocket. Another salesman had the other fob and was trying to show the car to another family, just outside the window. Every time he tried to unlock it, I'd lock it, until he finally gave up and just gave them the outside tour.

Welcome to the Internet, where Hyperbole is a strange uncle who never bathes, sleeps on the couch, eats all the leftovers, and can’t be evicted.

…you know the dealer in question has more or less acknowledged that it happened, right? What’s the “whole story” that justifies this kind of conduct? Is this why Ford has the worst dealer network in terms of ADM of any manufacturer I’ve ever seen? People try to defend them even when they pull crap like this? I tried to order a Raptor 4 years ago in a fairly large market and couldn’t find a single dealer that would even order it how I wanted, not to mention without charging 10k ADM. The large dealership down the street from me had a Shelby GT500 in yellow that they charged 30k ADM for, while a dealership a state over is selling a Challenger Super Stock with 600 ADM. People tend to jump to the defense of consumers in situations like this because Ford dealers have a well earned reputation for hideous ADM on non-limited production vehicles, let alone their limited stuff. Raptor, Focus RS, GT350/500, Bronco, hell Bronco Sports had markups in some places. Maybe don’t feel the need to make excuses for egregiously bad conduct. This is price gouging, pure and simple.
