no deposit required at my dealership in VA. I was told if I don't like it/want it when it shows up, just walk away....they have a list of people that are looking for one!

That was my impression as well, I feel vindicated now. Charged up to chew some ass tomorrow morning lol
Seems super sketchy, but like others have said - See what tomorrow brings. If they give you a VIN, check it out on the build tracker to make sure it’s actually yours. If they don’t provide one, speak to the GM. I wouldn’t go in looking ready to fight… that won’t get you anywhere. Having a calm discussion with the GM will go a lot longer if you start out that way.

Best of luck tomorrow!

Could it be a ploy to eventually keep that 1k deposit, claiming they ordered a vehicle and the buyer changed his mind? Then they can pocket the 1k and still sell to someone else eventually.

Also this is a mass produced vehicle, and as each month goes by, will command less of a premium if any. I think some people are overestimating the price it will command 6 months from now, when there are more around, and some people are moving on to the next new thing. The dealership might prefer whatever this buyer is paying, to what they might get 6 months from now.

I would call Ford customer service. Just say what you told us. Ask them what the status of your order really is. Tell them it sounded fishy and you need to verify what's up.

Good to know, I thought most dealers required 500-1000 dollars when the order was submitted? That not the case?
My dealer asked for zero down. As they could not guarantee when I would take delivery. I offered 1k but they refused.

Go there in person. It’s a lot harder to lie to someone’s face. Plus you can watch them refund your deposit to your card then and there.
These are car salesmen we're talking about, they lie to people's faces on a daily basis.

That's probably typical. Some ask for more, and some didn't ask for anything beyond the original $100.

For a normal special order I'd suspect it. But the Bronco isn't a normal special order, it'd sell even if you didn't take it. So the big question is, was your deposit refundable? I heard that alot were not.

Is the tow package really enough of a constraint that it causes a big delay? I see people switching to soft tops but nobody is talking about dropping the tow package
