Switched on 5/10 once it became clear about the extent of MIC issues. Got email from Ford on 5/27 that I’m scheduled for production. I’m a 7/31/20 reservation so I feel fortunate. Build is in my signature.

I switched last week after my dealer confirmed with their Ford rep that I will NOT be scheduled before that September switch, was told only FE will be scheduled over the next weeks. (and if I do get scheduled I have it in writing and they can deal with installing that stuff for free later on on their own dime).

I wanted dual top because I never had a vehicle like this and wasn't sure what I'd like, keep one, sell the other. One of the main reasons for me to buy this thing is the convertible aspect and dealing with panels and all that stuff isn't all that appealing, especially when out and about. Bring the panels? Drive around in the cold when the fog rolls in? Or mount the softie and open and close when ever I want? That's what I really want.

But ideally I want a hard top in the back, soft top in the front, a large 'sunrinder' soft top for the two front rows, but the convenience of a real hard top in back. Anybody listening out there in aftermarket land?

I love that I can close the softie when ever I want, be it too much heat or parking in the sun for hours or driving along the coast and that damn fog rolling in.

We'll see how I like it....

I loved my Sunrider for hardtop on my Wrangler. 7 seconds to open or close. I was excited that Bestop has one for the Bronco. Yes, I will buy one.

On 5/11/21, I contacted Bestop with this same idea of having the Retractable top for both F&R rows. I also mentioned to them that you could truly have an all season Bronco where the top would be open F&R and have the doors off and stored in the rear. In Colorado, as in many states, the weather changes multiple times a day. You could close the up the Bronco pretty quick. Plus, you can remove it and replace the hard panels within 30 minutes for security. I also gave them my idea of how it could be engineered. It has been forwarded to the R&D dept.

I hope that Bestop is listening and will introduce something along these lines. I think one of the best parts of the Bronco hardtop is the open F&R panels for all passengers on the 4 door. I wish all 3 panels fit in the back with the doors on. They could do the same type of design for the removable section on the 2 Door Mod top.

Next, I could use some quality sliding windows for the rear side windows like I had in my Scout.

I
I made the switch to soft top. Hoping for a 2021 with a 7/20 reservation date. However, the questions I have is if a body-color top will be available if a body paint option goes away... Rumor has it Cyber Orange is only for MY21... so if that’s my color of choice, will it be available in that color when painted hard tops are ready for sale?
I would think... If not through Ford, someone else will certainly offer that.

Soft top orders were 7% of the USOB as of June. My guess is that they will be 21% or higher by July 16th.
Any chance of an update on this figure when the date comes?

I hope enough people switch. As a 10/30 2 DR reservation, I've been confident that I'll get a Bronco this year. Enough people switching might make that happen.

I only switched from Mod to MIC. I thought hard about the soft top but I don’t care for the way it looks. The MIC is the lesser of two evils for me and will be easier to sell once I can buy a Mod.

it will surely be more expensive doing it this way though. I don’t see a better solution though so oh well. Looking on the bright side I’m blessed to be able to buy a $60k vehicle

So, honestly, I was torn at the beginning between a two-door and a four-door. I like the look of the four door with the top off better, and the look of the two-door with the top on better. I like the idea of a smoother ride of the four-door in town, but I want the off-road capability of a two-door. So I was really torn between the two, and I chose the two-door.

But now, with soft top turn of events, and news they can't build my mic top for the two-door, I'm considering switching to the four-door. I would like to live as much as possible with the top off, and I think the route to get there easiest is a soft top. Even though the panels come out on hardtop, soft top top down process much simpler, back and forth several times a day. Arizona is state with so little rain and long seasons with ideal top-off weather, it's been eating at me.
So I'm thinking of abandoning the two-door and going to the four door soft-top.

Most of our customers understand that if they want a shot at MY21 they have to make the change. Personally the idea of not having a hardtop isn’t that big of a deal. Hardly used my hardtop on my keep back in the day.
