Hey SAC squad! Forgive me for this post, but I'm hoping that by writing this out here, it will help my thought process (and maybe it might even help someone else). So, here goes: Given recent developments, I've been pondering the hard top situation quite a bit, particularly as I'm already suffering from late-reservation-syndrome (reserved 30 August 2020). I must admit, I do feel the need to do whatever I can (within reason) to get my Bronco as soon as I can, and preferably in time for Spring/Summer 2022 (before the end of 2021 would be even better). With that in mind, I'm leaning very heavily toward calling our good buddy Bronco John @StephensAutoCenter later today to do just that -- drop the MIC top in favor of the soft top; I'm fairly confidant that my later res will mean I'll end up with the post-1 September build that will include the recently announced "prep kit".

I've also gone back and forth on whether to keep (or ditch) SAS in my build. In fact, when I first placed my order, I left SAS off. I'm almost certain I'll be dropping SAS for good, as I've been very pleased with the look of the 33s (particularly the KO2s) I've spotted on a few recent postings by new owners here on B6G. I figure if I really need/want to do so, I can add lift, wheels and 34s or 35s later if I get to the point where I find I am limited signifcantly in my adventures by the stock 33s.

Lastly, I still keep feeling the pull of the 7MT because I just miss driving stick (watching the TFL video reassured me as well). Call me old fashioned, but I loved all the stick shifts I've owned -- 1977 VW Westfalia Camper (orange), 1986 VW Cabriolet (white), 1996 Landrover Discovery (white), 1998 Nissan Patrol (blue), 2000 VW Golf GTI VR6 (silver), so I may even drop back to the stick and 2.3 from the 2.7 Auto. And yes, Bronco John did explain to me the benefits of the auto vs stick in off-roading, but I guess I'm a bit of a block head :ROFLMAO: ! Wish me luck!

Nobody can blame you. I'm still looking at Defenders since I can get them before the end of the year.

If you have a Badlands the SAS package shouldn't matter much. From reading between the lines the commodity shortage seems to be with the locking front and rear axles.

Switching to a softy will absolutely move you up in line, though.

Also, I'm very biased on this, manual or bust. There's just something about rowing the gears with the doors off.

If it helps you at all, I went out to Bronco Super Celebration East this last round. Got there Friday afternoon, went up and down the rows taking photos of all MY2021 Broncos. It may have been the shock of seeing them in person for the first time, but I thought "boo, they are all sasquatched"... It wasn't until later at my hotel, reviewing the photos that I realized I had been looking at 33" tires on the Badlands model.

Obviously, it would be easier to tell with a large mix of tire sizes. But, honestly, I didn't notice a difference in person the first time.

I'm guessing the vast majority of the public won't be able to tell the difference either on the Badlands. Just IMHO.

I test drove the 110 (4 banger) a few months back and really enjoyed it. I was considering the Defender for a number of reasons, and loved the experience, BUT... for me, at least, I know I won't be happy with myself without a Bronco, so I'm doomed to play the waiting game! Also, I keep my cars a looooong time and... well, owning a Land Rover can be challenging.

Sure will... but remember folks, I am heading out on vacation on 7/9 and I won't be back in the office until 7/26. Our GM, Chase Barton, will be taking care of you folks until I return (if he's out, then you'll be taken care of by either Jody or Jeremy). I am training him on my spreadsheets. He won't be as in-touch with the community as I am, but he should have updated info if it becomes available.

Don't forget to ask our about Bronco Accessories Display when you get here, our Bronco Accessories Specialist, Rob Keffer, has worked really hard to get something nice and special just for our Bronco customers.

If you don't get the info you're looking for, email me and I'll do what I can (I'll be in limited internet territory for a lot of my travels): [email protected]

Bronco John says he'll be on vacation from 9-26 July but, in reality, he's on a secret mission to meet up with the Stig in Michigan and bring back the rest of the @StephensAutoCenter allocation. All of us will have our Bronco's by the end of the month.

All hail Bronco John !!

I'm super excited to see some progress and just moved to "In Production" for my 2dr, Badlands, 2.7, High package. The last time I checked the build week was July 12th... either way, I'm looking forward to my trip to Stephens and the road trip back. Original reservation timestamp was fairly early on the 13th.

I'm also planning on taking the long route back to PA and spend a couple of days exploring with the Bronco. It seems like the "Highland Scenic Highway" should make for an excellent maiden voyage.

Nice ride. What accessories are you getting right away? Also what tint vlt did you go with?
Just a factory match, not sure what the percent is on the tint. As far as extras go, I have them putting on the mirror mounted lights, wheel well lights and fold down tailgate table. I also ordered the slider side steps from 4WP. They should be pretty straightforward to install.

So are you off Friday or is it your last day?

I am working on Friday July 9.... the day before vacation, so I don't really know how much "work" will take place :)
