For those of us getting the softtop or hardtop sans roof rails, do we know for sure of any accessories designed to mount onto the attachment points at the top of the windshield frame, such as lighting bars or anything else?

I may be interested in a light bar or a single crossbar-type rack mount that could work along with a hitch-mounted bar to carry a kayak.

I’ve seen lots of pictures of light bar mounts, but haven’t seen anything for sale in catalogues (however, I haven’t looked too hard either). Very interested in seeing some options, however I plan on utilizing the modular bumper for more of my lighting needs.

Yes. Check out the Ford Dealership accessories catalogue and you'll see a few different light configurations on display, one of which is a ~40" Rigid light bar that is mounted via the accessory points.

light bar is definitely available, probably also single pod lights. The bar I've seen several times.

I won't get one, don't care for the look, don't want the wind noise, and have yet to need extra light out front.

I would think a cross bar will also be coming for that kayak setup, interesting idea. I don't want a roof rack, but something easy to put on and take off would be neat at times.

Quadratec LED Interior Mount 50” Stealth Light Bar

Not sure if its ok to post links, but check these things out if you don't like the exterior lightbar but still want enough light for overlanding at night. I dont know what the bronco solution is, since I seem to remember it having a camera module at the top of the window like my Ranger (with higher trims). Maybe a split setup?

You are 100% right though - exterior lightbars are noisy!

Edit: The answer was right in front of my face.. they make a split unit for vehicles with a center mounted camera.

that's an interesting idea, as long as it doesn't reflect too much into the cabin. And a much cleaner look. Thanks!

Some light bars or the old KC lights look cool and all camel trophy safari, but I'll be driving open roof and there's enough wind noise already, no need to add more and most (all?) lightbars I've ever seen are just a square stick, no aerodynamics at all. I guess one could be designed to sit nice on the roof and kind of mold to the roof line, but even that would probably make noise. Just not my thing, but I'll give these a look. Seems really nicely integrated and flush to the windshield.

The light leakage is entirely going to depend on your install skills and attention to detail. Getting it close to the window with the proper angle is key. I have heard of people using a bit of weather stripping to seal in the bottom of the unit against the window to a perfect, zero reflection install.

This is not my video, just a random example of the stealth lightbar in use.

I don’t need a light bar, but interested in a cargo rack bar. But I’m sure that will be noisy as well. Likely instead go with the self-contained hitch rack that holds the kayak up above the rear of the top. That is, after I get the Bronco and add an aftermarket receiver.
