It’s not the “end of the world.” Discovered it less than two hours ago and am disappointed about the brand-new car I bust my ass to pay for being ruined. I will continue to be pissed possibly the rest of the day. I’m just not as zen as yall.

100% financed, bought in September. So I’ll be making payments another 6.5 years on this piece of shit to pay off the price of a “new” car. Fuck this.
If it helps, in 2014 I bought a very low mileage pristine 2008 BMW Z4, a few months later in early 2015 it was rear ended. $11.5K of repair damage. Oh, and my mother passed away the next day and because of the accident, I missed her last day. I was lucky to live near one of the best BMW body shops on the East Coast. They fixed it perfect. Then in late 2018, I hit a deer in it. Again, same shop, and fixed perfectly. Shit happens.

It's a machine with broken glass, dented metal, and wet carpet. It will not remember the hailstorm.

You'll get it fixed, it will be fine, and you'll forget about it.

Ignore people telling you how to feel or to just get over it. This sucks and I’d be frustrated and angry in general also.

I had a new 2006 Wrangler that got rear-ended (while stopped at a red light!). Got it fixed. A year later, rear-ended again (while stopped at a red light!). Yes, I know it will be “fixed” but unlike my spartan Jeep with washout floors and which already smelled like dirt, this is a sophisticated, carpeted vehicle that is fucked up all over and flooded. I will be pissed off briefly about it and won’t be called an asshole for same.

Wife is distraught and called in tears. I will refer to her to the “it won’t be like new but it will be fixed” committee. This is a cheer event. They have ridden with other moms in their luxury SUVs on every other such trip. She was thrilled to be the driver this time.

And 50% of my anger is that the adjuster hasn’t called and his voicemail says it make take a full business day to respond. While my family and their friends are stranded. They can catch rides with friends to the event they are there for, but the ball is not rolling on damage inspection or rental car for their return tomorrow.

Funny thing is, y’all, I finally bought her this new car last fall, even though she had a pretty nice but old 2007 Tahoe (with only 60k miles!), in part because I have a 2015 4Runner, and there is no way I was going to get away with buying the new Bronco I reserved in July before getting her a new car.

I had this happen to an F-150. The truck was only a couple months old. Our area got slammed with a hail storm. As such, it took almost 2 months to get it in for repair due to how many other vehicles in the area were damaged as well. Luckily there was no broken glass so we never had to worry about water damage.
All of the non metal parts had to be replaced but what was amazing was that they fixed all the dents via Paintless Dent repair, where they basically massage the metal back into shape.

Once we got it back, we could not tell it had any damage. The body technician was a freaking artist.

The claim was over $7,000 for everything and I simple paid our deductible.

I know this really sucks right now, but hopefully it works out in the end.

Shit man, everyone understands his anger and frustration; we're just trying to help with his state of mind. I don't think anyone is intentionally giving him a hard time about it.

And through it all you haven't named the insurance company. The threat of publicity will sometimes grease the wheels.

Not unless the adjuster shows up here bragging he got a priority ticket for a Bronco.

Believe me, I’m not freaking out. I am disappointed and mildly angry about the lack of contact from the adjuster. When my new Jeep was rear-ended 16 years ago—before I had kids and myriad life events, accidents, layoffs, disappointments, deaths and lessons in the interim—that’s when I REALLY got bent out of shape and mad. Not now.

Now, I just devote my day to trying to get the process in motion, vent a little bit and call the car a hopeless, ruined piece of shit for a half a day, and move on.

No contact still from adjuster. Going to rain some more. I may need to call a Kia dealer in that area to tow it to their place and get it under cover.

My wife bought a new 2013 traverse and it got hit in a big Colorado hail storm about a year or 2 later. I was really angry about it for a bit too. Normal reaction to there. you’ll figure it out. Just take a deep breath today. It got fixed pretty well and insurance paid for it but for deductible and it has been a good car for the last 6 or 7 years with no issues caused by the repairs other than a slight squeak when you close the rear hatch. Only big old bummer is that it isn’t worth much as a trade or sale because the carfax indicates damage. Oh well. Be well today. Tomorrow will look different
