Perhaps. But on the flipside maybe 20% is the amount of funny business Ford was willing to allow to keep the dealers happy. I would imagine every canceled order will be sold with a hefty ADM.
I think in the age of the internet, ADM is a bit more difficult to apply. If it turns out the larger dealerships run a 19% non-name-match conversion to sell a "lot" units, the chances to sell such Broncos off the lot with an ADM, would be better with a lower ADM vs. higher.

I don't expect the "20% have to go to the actual reservation holders or we'll spank your bottom" to do much good with most of these scumbags either. You think Ford is really going to be right on top of meting out those punishments? Doubt it. Dealerships probably know they can get away with putting 100% of their reservations on the lot and it'll be months before Ford responds. At the very least dealerships will get three months worth of ADM free for all before Ford does anything, that profit would likely more than exceed the profit lost by whatever allocations they lose (if any).
Thats where this forum steps in. If we spot a dealership with an absurd amount of Bronco stock where it is obvious they gamed the system to the detriment of true reservation holders, we get loud and create a media shit storm until Ford has to react and enforce their own rules. However, I don't think it will come to that and I am expecting Ford to police their dealerships. Ford has taken their fair share of lumps throughout this rollout and really doesn't want any more bad press.

Based on allocation estimates, only our first 2.5 days of reservations would even get a 21, hoping that will grow when final allocation is announced, but even then I don't expect to make it past July 20 at best (excluding commodities, those could cause some early reservations to not get built allowing some later ones to instead).
That's what I thought, thanks for the information!

Yes, I do. Read the policy (highlighted below). Demand is much greater than supply, and Ford is the 800 lb gorilla in the room. No single dealer comes anywhere close to Ford in this power structure. Ford controls allocations, so it holds ALL the cards here.

Ford won't even make dealerships give people back their deposits after the dealership converted their reservation without their consent.

Ford also said "Reservation holders must provide consent to convert to an order."

How has that panned out?

Ford has botched this rollout and they are continuing to botch this rollout. I had Ford CS tell me last week that maybe I should wait until filing a complaint about the dealership converting my res without my consent until after I (maybe, hopefully) got my deposit back just in case filing a formal complaint against them pissed them off enough to refuse to give my deposit back.

The whole thing is a total sh!tshow, created by and enabled by Ford themselves.

It seems the fair thing for Ford to do is contact all order holders using the original reservation contact information and confirm that they indeed placed the order and intend to take delivery of the vehicle.
Those that say ‘no” to either question Ford should force the order to go to the end of the queue after all existing reservations/orders (MY21 and MY22) and then the dealer can do what they want with it when it shows up.
Those that do not respond are put on hold until the dealer can validate the customer exists and answers the two questions. The dealer failing to find the perspective buyer also puts the order to the end of the queue.
Dealer Employee orders can be addressed by asking a third question. “Are you a current employee?” Those ‘yes’ get bumped and any false no’s are something Ford and the Dealer will have to handle as they do any other misrepresentation.

As a further bit of fairness, MY21 orders canceled should be offered to those MY21 buyers who are bumped out of MY21, using a first come first serve and best match approach. Those declining orders go to the dealer. For example a B 2.3. manual gets offered to the next B 2.3 manual that missed out of MY21. Each order gets one shot and each buyer in queue gets one chance to accept.
Unfortunately, this is a logical suggestion/probable solution. Which means it will never happen.

We don't allow wiki as a source; some Jeep fanboy could have written that.

What is his info source? Dealers say the darndest things.
I agree. 😉 I'm assuming he talked with Ford...but that's just an assumption on my part

I'm a mid August reservation with no sins and an allotment that my dealer says I'm well within. I really have no clue and reading here just makes me more confused, but I understand I was late to the game which may mean late 2021 or 2022 (My dealer says I will get one in 2021, but we'll see). I would be more confident if I knew how many orders were Priority Code 99 or My22 electives. Do you think Ford will ever release that?

BTW, my priority code is 10, just to show that probably means nothing other than I MIGHT get my bronco this year. Any opinions? I know some people are convinced that if they are an early reservation, even with heavy demand items, that Ford will make it happen for them early. That would be fair, but I don't think it will work that way. I think dealer allotments and specific builds will have a big impact on when it is built. May is just around the corner, it just doesn't feel that way...

It's sad but some dealers will for sure game the system to pad their pocketbooks, or take care of their top existing customers. I know of a guy who just called his dealer last week to order a Bronco. He didn't have a reservation but he said his dealer is going to "take care of him" with someone else's unconverted reservation. Sucks but unless Ford really cracks down on it, it's what we're going to see.

Once you come to terms with the fact that auto makers/sellers are in the same general category as:
  • personal injury attorneys
  • massage parlors
  • gas station sushi
....you'll be able to come off your blood pressure meds.

I wonder how many people, like me, simply held onto their Reservation and are going to convert after the 2022 B&P is up so we are able to convert our reservations to MY22 orders. I’m guessing my question will generate a lot of false innuendo, but no one who wanted a 22MY had to convert their reservation.

Why would it take over a year for early res holders to get a Bronco? This is not based on any factual statement or timeline, unless a person puts it off on purpose.
If they choose several of the deadly sins would be one reason. Another is your dealer allocation. I have an early res, but also many of the sins and also a little outside my dealers expected allocation. I'd like August delivery, but really not expecting it to happen.
