Thanks...but your assurance doesn't change my question. I'll continue reading.Ford has stated explicitly a number of times that for MY21, reservation orders will be filled before dealer stock.
Since orders outnumber production capacity, by extrapolation, all of MY21 production will be devoted to fulfilling orders.
(exceptions made for mannequins and review units obviously)
The reality is that there will be many Broncos on lots with big ADMs because of dealers fraudulently converting customer reservations and Ford refusing to cancel them.Thanks...but your assurance doesn't change my question. I'll continue reading.
Levine and I think even Ford's website once stated that reservations would be filled before dealer stock. I think that is true and they will probably abide by that for the most part.Where did Ford promise all reservations filled before putting Broncos for sale on the lots?
"Yeah, a guy had this one all built up and then financing fell through" orLevine and I think even Ford's website once stated that reservations would be filled before dealer stock. I think that is true and they will probably abide by that for the most part.
If dealers cheat the system by converting orders with actual reservations that may have canceled at the dealership level, and then use the 20% rule to sell the vehicle to a different "name", it was never "dealer stock" per se, but it sure is walking and quacking like dealer stock.
Then I guess I missed something.Thanks...but your assurance doesn't change my question. I'll continue reading.
Ford promised it initially in the original FAQs...explicitly that all reservatiosn would be filled before building for dealer stock. They have since removed that from the FAQ's, indicating that it is no longer the policy. However, Mike Levine has tweeted that "for MY21" only reservation orders will be built. The fact that he specifically mentions for MY21, leads the conclusion that stock units will be mixed in with orders for reservations in 22. For MY21, reservation holders are safe.Where did Ford promise all reservations filled before putting Broncos for sale on the lots?
I know the sales manager had me sign the order sheet because my name was on the reservation, even though it will be in both my husband’s and my name. So I assume he was trying to keep everything matched up as he proceeds with orders. Also, I did get an email after ordering. All Ford needs to do is send every person who converted an email letting them know they have ordered ( so all those folks in the dark about their unscrupulous dealers will be like WTF)
Now sure how ford plans on making sure the reservation holder is the one that bought the car from the dealer but I'm sure there are ways.
I see alot more news worthy stories if dealers start selling 19% of their Broncos at a markup while others have been waiting for 2 years.
Ford (zone manager)were are you getting these numbers from ,Ford them selfs or who
Based on allocation estimates, only our first 2.5 days of reservations would even get a 21, hoping that will grow when final allocation is announced, but even then I don't expect to make it past July 20 at best (excluding commodities, those could cause some early reservations to not get built allowing some later ones to instead). Why would it take over a year for early res holders to get a Bronco? This is not based on any factual statement or timeline, unless a person puts it off on purpose.
dealers have friends and family ordering them up. Not taking delivery, giving them their 100 bucks back, maybe a bit more for playing along and sticking it out on the lot.The reality is that there will be many Broncos on lots with big ADMs because of dealers fraudulently converting customer reservations and Ford refusing to cancel them.
Yep.dealers have friends and family ordering them up. Not taking delivery, giving them their 100 bucks back, maybe a bit more for playing along and sticking it out on the lot.
I guess anything is possible, but there is a reason we are ordering things with the deadly sins - they are cool as shit and we wants themBut if dealers adjusted all those orders to exclude the deadly sins, those would be produced first ahead of real orders that included any of the deadly sins. If they were being smart, that is.
Point of clarification: There must be an 80% name match. (Up to a 20% name miss-match).Yep.
I don't expect the "20% have to go to the actual reservation holders or we'll spank your bottom" to do much good with most of these scumbags either. You think Ford is really going to be right on top of meting out those punishments? Doubt it. Dealerships probably know they can get away with putting 100% of their reservations on the lot and it'll be months before Ford responds. At the very least dealerships will get three months worth of ADM free for all before Ford does anything, that profit would likely more than exceed the profit lost by whatever allocations they lose (if any).
Yes, I do. Read the policy (highlighted below). Demand is much greater than supply, and Ford is the 800 lb gorilla in the room. No single dealer comes anywhere close to Ford in this power structure. Ford controls allocations, so it holds ALL the cards here. You think Ford is really going to be right on top of meting out those punishments? Doubt it. Dealerships probably know they can get away with putting 100% of their reservations on the lot and it'll be months before Ford responds.
