Lmao, really? Unacceptable? You'd back out because you don't like where the front plate goes?
I won’t back out based solely on the license plate location. But coupled with other snafus, delays, and late availabilities sure gets a person looking at other options.

Here in WA st we can apply to have front license exempt, but unable to get the paperwork started untill I get vin #
So I hope I I'll be able to elude the popo until then.;)
Huh? Really? So as long as you pay a fee and apply, you get to not run a front plate?

Already meticulously thought this through

i put a note with the dealer that I won’t take delivery with drill holes. Skipped the HD bumper and will get the standard bumper on OBX sas.

Why?

1. See what my payload sticker says first without the steel and 2. To shop lighter aftermarket metal bumpers with an incorporated better license plate solution. I have 825 to work with on aftermarket that’s not going to ford

If the plate goes on the dash for a few months so be it. But this approach seems like a win win.

This never made any sense because the winch being present would cause this plate location to be unusable. If anything this would be the mounting location if there is *not* a winch.

I do stand by my assertion that with the front hoop installed it might not look so horrible since it will be framed...

...but I’d still rather it on the bumper.

I wonder what going old school and mounting it on the grill but to one side would look like.

My 1970 Bronco had the license plate mounted in the exact middle of the front bumper, which was chrome

NOt exactly true. You can request an exemption but your vehicle really cant have any spot to mount or WSP will deny. I have a Lotus Elise with almost no frontal area. WSP has refused to exempt the many owners who have tried. No way A Bronco gets by with that wall of a front end. :)

Every vehicle is required to have a front license plate if it is
possible to affix one to a vehicle. Therefore if there is a license
plate bracket which may be affixed to the vehicle allowing for the font
license plate to be displayed, you will be required to install it on
your vehicle whether or not it requires you to drill holes.

If after researching you cannot find a license plate bracket that will
work for your vehicle, you can apply for a front license plate waiver
for your vehicle. These waivers are looked at on a case by case basis
based on the original manufactured version of the vehicle and its
ability to affix a front license plate. To request a front license
plate waiver please write a letter articulating why you feel you should
be exempt from the law, include a picture of the front of the vehicle
and any additional information you feel would outline your case and send
to:

Washington State Patrol
Equipment & Standards
PO Box 42600
Olympia WA 98504-2600

Once the letter is received our office will research the availability of
license plate brackets for your vehicle, review your case, and send you
a letter with the decision.

Thank you for your inquiry.
Sincerely,
Equipment

Yep just posted that, but since I will be getting the factory winch there will not be any good place to mount it.:p

Don‘t plan to install a front plate. Haven’t put one on the last two vehicles I’ve had.

There are options where you could hide the plate and pull it out as needed. Not sure if they will work on the Bronco or not. But till I find one, I’m telling the dealer not to drill my vehicle and zip tie it to the grill or something. 😒

I think we'll see a bunch of people do that. Works great until you use that bash plate for the first time haha
Ford will sell more bash plates... they are now a plate holder! Clever fuckers.

Front license plates are required here in California 😪, but thankfully Eric at Kearney Mesa Ford put in a front plate bracket delete on my order 😀 I will find someplace to put it but it sure ain't going where the stock plate goes, guess I'll see how many fix-it tickets I get before I really decide where to put it LOL 😉
Same for my order as well. I've gone years without a front plate here in CA. Not going to start now.
