Wanna know a secret? People in Chicago don't actually eat deep dish . . . at least not on the scale all the food shows on TV would lead you to believe. The overwhelming most popular style of pizza here is known as tavern or party style - it's a thin crust and it's cut into squares. The joy of pizza is eating pizza (duh!) and one slice of a deep dish can fill you up. With tavern pizza you just keep going back for those little squares and drinking beer and the eating experience continues without feeling like you just dropped a gut bomb. Sure we occasionally eat deep dish but mostly when someone comes in from out of town and wants to go to that place they saw on the Food Network or something or (back when this was a thing) we would be in those things called "offices" and a vendor/supplier would come in to do a presentation and pop for lunch. The people doing the presentations were usually from out of town and either wanted deep dish themselves or thought that's what we always ate. Who's going to turn up their nose at a free lunch, right?

Not a great picture but here's what pizzas look like from one of my favorite local places, Flo & Santo's. Can't wait until I can get together with friends again there and rip through some pizzas and beer . . . and their famous pork wings.

I’m sure you gathered I am a dealer...
Maybe you should update your profile to indicate that more clearly for transparency?

Noted. I don’t think there is a lack a transparency. If I was shilling or recruiting clients I would see your point. Until that point, I think I’m just a member posting like you. Cheers!

If you ever get the chance, try Piece Pizza on North Ave. The beer is good too.
Piece is the real deal and saying "the beer is good" is burying the lede, given how many Great American Beer Festival and American Beer Cups medals they've won. The pizza's great and they've partnered with a number of folks for creative combo's, including local legend Hot Doug (Sohn) for a version sporting his famous Atomic (Dog) Sausage (my fave). Oh, and you never know when you might see co-owner Rick Nielsen (Cheap Trick) show up! To try and get back on-topic for a threadjack I started (apologies) . . . I look forward to driving over to Piece in my 4 door Badlands when all this pandemic is over . . . and looking for parking for freakin' ever and ending up walking a half mile. :ROFLMAO:

Again, kudos to you and your team as you seem to be doing a great job in a less than ideal situation for us car dealers!
thank you for the kind words of support...I think this is actually a good situation for us...it’s also a learning situation to build relationships with our customers, instead of trying to hold them hostage for adm’s for a mass produced vehicle

I agree on the learning part...I will agree it’s it’s a good situation when we can fulfill all the reservations we have converted. Being short on inventory is not what I expected a year ago. All the best!!

I totally agree. I just think that there are folks switching dealerships not understanding that allocation plays a roll in whether they get a 2021 or 2022MY. I’m sure you gathered I am a dealer and I have an early reservation myself. I will pay MSRP to get a 2021 knowing I could save a few grand and wait until 2022. If customers switching dealers are fully aware that they are likely getting a 2022, I think that is great (not sure they are actually saving money, but they might be). I am only concerned that a lot of customers don’t seem to understand that they are not guaranteed to get a 2021 at a discounted price if the selling dealer has more converted orders than expected allocation.
Can you elaborate on the part I bolded? I think most customers, myself included, don't care as much about the MY as long as we get the discounted price.

I couldn’t agree more. I am a likely to cancel my order as well as we are getting close to 100% converted orders to projected allocation. It is indeed a fluid situation. I respect what your dealership is doing and applaud you for being out in front of things. I think we would all prefer to have more inventory to sell even if it meant lower margins. I am certainly not accusing any dealer(s) of anything but i recently had a conversation with a 7/13 res customer with an FE reservation who said he wanted to switch his res to discount dealer X. I explained that if that dealer is only getting 1 FE and he is not the earliest time stamp he would have an issue. He indicated they guaranteed he would get his 2021 FE. That was a little concerning as to what misinformation might be circulating. Again, kudos to you and your team as you seem to be doing a great job in a less than ideal situation for us car dealers!
The part I bolded: I don't have a FE reservation so therefore no dog in the fight, but I'm assuming the information you are referring to is straight from Ford. Ford said ALL First Editions WILL be built in MY21, some will just have later availability. How could Ford build all FE's but not deliver to those customers because of "dealer allocation"?
