Know what else wears down your truck? Driving it. Is the use within the design specs for the mechanical parts? Then it's not an issue worth losing sleep over.

The EcoBoost's turbo cooling systems are designed to use the natural convection motion of heating coolant to continue circulating coolant even if the engine is turned off. I'd be surprised if there was any real issue with heatsoak due to start/stop.

Have you driven a Ford with auto stop/start? I have a work truck that has it and it seems the moment you lift off the brake the engine is started again so I don't think there is any delay from moving from a stop that I've ever noticed. I just don't like the extra wear & tear on the starter as well as the heat build up in the turbos. YMMV

everyone gets so riled up about the start stop. It works flawlessly on my f150 and i've compared my round trip commute with it on off and it makes a pretty sizeable difference on fuel costs when you're in stop and go. Also I wouldn't worry about the starter they are much beefier and specifically engineered for this purpose from what I've read.

Yes it takes a few days to get used to it but if you just let it do it's thing it honestly is a great feature.

Also i've come to realize i actually enjoy being stopped with the engine off when i have the windows open, it's actually a quite peaceful experience. The ecoboost engines sound so boring anyway so it's not like there's something nice to listen to...

It does until you turn the motor off, then the next time you start up need to push it again.

That's annoying. My damn 2015 M4 once you push to disable once it stays disabled until you push it again.

Not riled up, was just asking the question if they had any actual experience with the auto stop/start. The internet is full of people speaking from a point of no experience.

I have a Ford Escape, and on vehicles with Sport mode, that mode disables the start stop.
So us Badlands people are going to have to push that button every time or use something to disable it.
The rest of the models can just put the Bronco into sport mode and be done with it

Can you quantify? I've figured in my head and from what I read that it's maybe 3%? So if we're 20 mpg, it's .6 difference? Wondering what real life shows.

This will be my first Ford in a while. I have started a list of hacks that is 1 item long. What others exist? Hacks like on a Jeep where you can plug/unplug the seatbelt 3 times with the ignition on - engine off and disable the seatbelt dinging.
