1. I'm wondering if because of BN so tightly controlling content, the "traditional" media is annoyed in similar ways we are. Basically the only real conduit for Bronco news is through BN... so if BN is being "exclusive" on Instagram, that's no content left for sites like the linked article.agreed, BN definitely stepped on their own appendage so they earned what they get, but the article has no love for BN at all
makes me wonder 2 things
1 - if Jackson Comms or BN have a bit of history alienating others
2 - why does Ford leverage Jackson? this makes no sense to me, especially when we are this far along and there really isn't a whole lot of professional Ford supplied marketing material. most of the high quality images have come out of BN, but even then are not what I would call professional. if I was working at Ford on the marketing team I'd be pushing for a different approach. Stig has done far more for Bronco imaging & marketing through this site than BN and Ford has done
I would have felt much better if BN would have said "a former overzealous legal representative".
I agree. I kind of think their slow leak approach was to build the desire for more info from the public. Give a 10 second video clip or obscure picture just enough to tick you off but then have you clamoring for more.most of the high quality images have come out of BN, but even then are not what I would call professional. if I was working at Ford on the marketing team I'd be pushing for a different approach. I think it's a totally valid opinion... I was just surprised it just didn't offer any sort of counter-point.It's hard to argue the other side at this point. There is no coherent argument that this was a well orchestrated or effective move by BN, so the column seems to be a valid opinion, not biased.
Pretty sure ford simply hired a PR firm and have a contract. I doubt that contract states that the PR firm should be more focused on self-promotion than Bronco promotion, and I doubt the contract gets renewed, whenever it ends.agreed, BN definitely stepped on their own appendage so they earned what they get, but the article has no love for BN at all

This seems highly dubious considering the way BN keeps acting toward the very people they're supposed to appeal to....
2. Ford has a marketing team, but it's more or less set up to follow the old model. I can 100% see Ford making the decision to outsource social media marketing.... I'd much rather pay another company to do what they're already good at than pivot my own organization and/or build something from scratch....
I wouldn't be surprised if the deal BN entered into with Ford said that BN promised to handle all of the social media marketing, and will generate a ton of buzz and shares and stuff, in turn for being able to retain whatever profits they generate from their paywall BN model. This seems highly dubious considering the way BN keeps acting toward the very people they're supposed to appeal to.
