Do you think people with jacked up 4x4's and wheel spacers get pulled over and the CHP pulls out a straight edge to check for coverage?

Yup...certainly do in my state. Been pulled over a couple times for it. Fix it ticket issued.

I’ll be snagging up some narrow flares too. Those are way too wide....
Narrow ones make a huge mess, but the look is worth it...usually.

Keep the OG SQ flares, and swap them in with the quick release, get the ticket signed off, put back on the shorty flares.
10 minutes in a 7-11 parking lot....

Hear ya....rather not get pulled over in first place tho. Our tint laws are tight here too and pull people over that all the time as well...oh and front license plate.

I bet some will actually overlap the fender in the flat area just above the opening
Which would allow the flare to come out away from the fender higher up

Yes it will, but if I don’t have anyone to swap with, I’ll trim the sas flares until the aftermarket catches up with something I must have ?

Im sure someone will make a flare that starts higher up on the fender - for the perception of larger gap - even if not actually cutting metal
