The #1 factor is that not all of those reservations will be converted into orders. You're starting with too large a number.
That's not lost on me, but as Zach pointed out, 70% conversion is still 2x available production capacity, meaning half are 2022.

Yes, actually it can. Allocation ESTIMATES were based on EVERY reservation (9/18 and older) going through. Once all orders are in there will be another allocation calculation that will be the actual allocation. This can change. If all dealers have the same % of cancellations, nothing will change. However, If one dealer has 50% and another has 0% cancellations, the 0% dealer will likely gain allocations from the one that lost lots of reservations.

It's nice to kick back and enjoy the show with some popcorn. ???
It's going to be even nicer hitting the trails this fall in my new Bronco.

Most states have passed some version of a Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act. There is also breach of contract and fraudulent misrepresentation. Damages would be the tricky part. I'm assuming that early deliveries will be able to flip them for well over sticker, and at this rate that will likely hold throughout 2021. This isn't generally my area of practice, but I bet a class action specialist might be interested in a case involving a class of likely tens of thousands of people who Ford is screwing over, for maybe $5,000 in damages per class member.
Did you read the T's & C's of the Reservation Agreement all of us consented to when we made our reservation? Any attorney that would take on a suit like this wouldn't even be good enough to chase ambulances.

Maybe I'm in the minority here but I think there is a decent chance that a fair number of people could still get their vehicle of choice sometime this year. The biggest unknown is how many reservations become actual orders with dealers during the next two months. Another key factor is that there is likely a significant number of early reservation holders who will need / decide to wait for 2022 models anyway - e.g. those wanting a Manual Squatch or other 2022 only options.

While I'd prefer to get a Bronco this year, if I end up getting pushed back at least I'll have the opportunity to actually see one in person first.

Go back and read your reservation agreement, which you acknowledged when you paid your $100 reservation fee. There is no guarantee that you will receive a Bronco. Ford also has the right to cancel your reservation and refund your $100.

Any such case brought forward would be dismissed by the first judge that it came before.

I challenge the dealerships who have made special deals for Bronco buyers, such as Sewell/Granger/Stephen’s/ to release their allocation and reservation numbers. It seems like most dealerships have been pretty open with it when people inquire. To not see it coming from 3 of the largest Bronco reservation holders who have specifically targeted out-of-state enthusiasts and forum goers is a bit concerning IMO.
Reservation totals are confidential.

7/14 reservation here with no interest in Bronco any longer as I am getting a TRX, but maybe I’ll just buy a base to sell and try to make a quick $5k off some of you desperate folks... thoughts?

There’s probably a dozen examples in this thread alone where dealerships have provided that number.

@Zach@Granger @Granger Ford is the plan to try and get through all your reservations holders for order conversion by March 19th regardless of whether or not they may eventually be MY22's? Previous responses from Albert suggested yes because allocation and delivery was likely to be fluid based on so many factors (reservation time stamp, trim, late availability options, etc.). Asked another way should October reservation holders expect to be ordering now when banks open and then re-ordering once we all have a better idea of timing?
It's my understanding that if you don't put your order in by March 19th you no longer have a reservation. Your $100 is refunded and you getb in line with the general public

@Rubisquatch hope you're right. That would be a big windfall for guys with Day 1 reservations to not only make the dealer allocation cut-off, but also get their loaded sasquatches first before inventory dries up. Better add more cameras in the driveway, this beast is going to rare for awhile.
I am not always right, my wife says I am 100% right 20% of the time, but - I do guess they will sell and build the loaded rigs first as it A) gets them high revenue early and B) gets the best looking rigs out there. Hope I’m right...

Agreed that is my understanding as well but then this whole 9/18 cut-off thing inserted confusion. That is with so many orders getting pushed to MY22 it would seem to make life easier if everyone after 9/18 went through a different ordering process at a later date (especially with changes in options and colors). As it is, it seems like we submit b4 3/19 and then re-submit once the dust settles and we know what the conversion rate is and how delivery timelines begin to play out.

Class action can sue for anything it seems, but I would laugh (or cry?) if people were paid because Ford maintained their pricing, provided vehicles to dealers across all markets in a consistent way, based on commodity availability and capacity, adjusted by volume, after making no commitment to specific time delivery and then had to pay because people couldn't buy a vehicle to flip in a secondary market. Oh btw, the cost to the consumer? $100 refundable deposit. One more way to drive the cost of vehicles higher and create more barriers to entry for any company to actually want to build them.
