I had a thought today, that if the 6G and the Ranger share a line, if the 6G doesn't begin production as expected; won't that mean the line runs more Rangers than planned before the 6G hits assembly?

And if that's the case could we expect more runtime on the Bronco as a result and perhaps make up some of the delays on the backend? Early res holders will then be the ones primarily affected by the delays (sorry). While later res holders might get theirs in normal timing.

I don't know a whole lot about the scheduling that was expected at the plant, but maybe someone with more insight can explain how this might pan out.

Possible. Although, they would need all the parts for those Rangers. So, it may not be as simple as that.

They have the Ranger Tremor coming, so could be pretty busy for a while.

Funny, i was thinking the same thing today. Figured that they'd be pumping out as many Rangers as possible while they have the opportunity. Once Bronco production starts a conservative estimate would be a vehicle coming off the line every 90 seconds which would give you about 40 vehicles / hr by say 22 hrs / day is 880 vehicles by 6 days = 5280 / week x 50 weeks = 264,000 Broncos and Rangers +(current Ranger production) by March /April of 2022....fingers crossed

Yeah my biggest thing is I wonder if once May 3rd comes around if they're gonna slow production on the Ranger in order to fill Broncos in a timely manner. If that's the case me having the Ranger Tremor as a backup if my Bronco build gets pushed beyond Oct, might not actually work haha.

Not to be negative, but I would honestly be surprised if bronco started production on time. With all the delays on parts and that ever looming possibility of more covid related shutdowns. Don’t get me wrong I hope it happens on may 3rd.

What I have noticed is how Ford does not share a lot of information. That seems to result in assumptions. The main assumption is COVID is the main cause of the Bronco delay. Unfortunately, as I cross-shop to kill time and my own curiosity, I do not find a shortage of vehicles and more importantly, no expected delay when I seek to custom order. These are vehicles made in the USA. Maybe they have different supply chains? A huge part of me wants to believe the COVID reason. However, another part of me feels this is all related to a GVWR issue which Ford is not prepared to discuss. If that is true, they need time to redesign key components.

As a ford technician I occasionally do get some info on the delays, sadly nothing related to bronco that hasn’t been made public, but I do know that 2 of the delays on the f150 were supposedly directly covid related. One of the companies that manufactured the tonueau covers and only of the companies that made the tough bed spay in bed liner for ford went out of business due to covid lockdowns.
