I may be misunderstanding something, but this says that half of the allocation formula is:

"Competitive reservations and your Ford retail sales as a percentage of the nation"

If Ford can meet all of the 2021 demands then we have no issues but if they can't then to me those with reservations at dealerships with long lines will be screwed or delayed because the dealer may not receive enough allocation to fulfill their entire list.

I was half joking above, but what am I missing?
It has an lol but the wording was poor "Over 1000! You guys will all be getting 2022s lol " all it mutually inclusive and not all of our customers will be getting 2022's...that is what @Drex was alluding to...

Hi Everyone,

I apologize if this has already been answered, I read through the threads and didn't see it come up. If our reservation is beyond the MY21 cutoff date (I think 09/14/20), should we still be expecting the email today?
There is no cutoff date...Ford will let all dealers and hopefully the Order holders that information...

The misunderstanding is where allocation begins. Allocation issues arise if and only if you do not have a reservation. If you want to buy off of the dealer lot, from their stock (aka allocation) then yes, you might have an issue. If you have a reservation then there is no concern.
Everyone thinks they know but really only Ford does, and thats questionable they even got it figured out yet. The MY21 built reservations are safe(where that line falls is yet to be determined), nothing to worry about there. The way i read it though is when they switch over to building MY22s in the factory then dealer allocation will also be built reservation or not. And of course they will put a priority on allocation to make the dealers happy. Plus they already have our sale locked in. If i choose to keep my Oct 1 reservation and not July then i expect i wont see my Bronco untill summer of 22 or possibly fall before the 23s drop.

so, one of vagaries of US federal law, is that techically, a vehicle can be sold as the next model year starting on 1 Jan of the previous year.

so, MY22 vehicles can be sold on 1 Jan 2021.

we might all be getting MY22 broncos!:p

Nope, he just said earlier that 2022 would likely order in February.
All orders will be placed in Dec/January 2020/2021 if they slip to 2022 we will then wait for the order information to come out and reorder then...

Has been many threads on this- Allocations are part of this reservation process.

If you don't order by January 31st, you don't have a Bronco order. After EVERYONE has ordered, Ford should know by February who will be getting the MY21.

If demand exceeds what they can make, you'll be informed of that by February, hopefully.

If your order is outside the MY21 then you'll have to create a new order for MY22 as options, price, etc can all be different from your original order.

Side note this chick and her husband (Ron Swanson) are 2 of the most hilarious people alive.
Ron Swanson is a fictional character. The actor that plays him is Nick Offerman. His wife, pictured above, is Megan Mullaly.
