I saw this picture of the side steps in another thread. I don't think the metal lip with holes above the steps is a good look. Will the rock rails hide it? If so I'll consider changing from steps to rails.

Between Ford and/or the aftermarket, there will be a simple strip to cover the pinch seam.

On OB the tube steps are standard. You can order the rock rails. Does this then replace the tube steps or are the rock rails just added? The B&P just shows the rock rail as an addition. Not sure if it’s a glitch. Anyone know?

At worst it would be a strip of 1 or 2" steel, painted black (or undercoated) with some holes drilled through it and bolted on. *Wouldn't do anything but hide the pinch.

The rock rails are a joke. My 4Runner has a plastic valance panel in that area to hide the pinch weld.

Yeah those steps with the pinch weld look terrible. The rock rails look great but I don't need them, I prefer the tube steps for my uses.

I think the serious wheelers are going to replace those rails with better sliders anyway.

I really like steps that came with my JKU, I use them all the time when taking the soft top on and off, same with the hard top. Also use them all the time putting my trail cover on and off almost daily, they're really handy. Same would go for the Bronco, hopefully the aftermarket comes up with something.

I'm hoping Rock Slide engineering makes some power step sliders. My wife is short and BL doesn't have steps.

I can't imagine that would bother me at all. If it does, some rubber plugs in the holes would make them disappear.

Yes they are. The sliders were mounted where the frame meets the body. About a 1 hour job with only me doing the work.
