If I get the Sasquatch Package - then order body colored or paintable flares - so I can have body colored flares.
Would that be stupid for some technical reason?

I think FOMOCO makes you change to wider flares because as a manufacturer they need to meet some highway safety standards.

But so many people space out there wheels and it doesn't seem to be a problem.

Thoughts?

( I just want the big tires and all the guts of the factory lift - ill likely swap out the rims...)

Almost certain the wider flares are to meet highway standards that require that the tread of the tire be covered. You may prefer the look of the narrower flares but the drivers behind you with every windshield you crack may have a different opinion.

Three ways to get that wider look for you tires... Wheel spacers, wheels with negative offset, or buy the standard sized flares. I do think it looks really good with the standard sized flares and 35s
Thanks, yea I think there is a ton of value in all the stuff supporting the SQ package,
the " High Clearance Suspension " included a bunch of components that would be expensive to replicate and install. I don't think you are getting the same function, stance or lift from some aftermarket lift kit.
Even if I swap the wheels I still think the pricing for the SQ is a good value.

** I just think the extra wide flares look clumsy and awkward - and I prefer body colored flares.
*** Feels more aggressive looking if the wheels are sticking out of the flares a bit.

In Oregon the entire width of the tire must be covered. Personally I think the tire poking out look is horrible. With off-road tires you will be kicking up road debris and rocks and the vehicles behind you. The last thing I need is another reason for the police to pull me over.

I rode with a motorcycle group once that the driver of a truck that threw a rock into the lead bike had a rude awaking at the traffic light when his side mirror unexpectedly hit the ground .

I think a lot of this is overblown because a passenger car without mudflaps is just as likely to fling a rock, and off-road vehicles are notorious for doing it unless they have full length, semi-sized mudflaps.

Plus, there isn’t supposed to be a shit ton of rocks and gravel on the roads anyway, and a lot of cities and municipalities don’t do anything about routinely cleaning busy streets and highways.

Or, just do what we did in Colorado, get a new windshield every 6 months.

The toilet licking biker is lucky he didn't get what he deserved.

Random accidents,...are.

Two hyper aggressive retards butting heads, is a choice.

In MA you are allowed to have the tire extend 2" outside of the fender. The other thing to think about is the angle at which the Squatch flares come out. If the normal flare isn't as flat as the Squatch then your Squatch tires might catch the edge of the regular flare and rip them off of the fender.

The wider Sassy flares just give them 50 state DOT legality across the board. Here in NY we don't have wheel coverage laws for non commercial vehicles, so I could pop them off entirely and still pass inspection.

I still need to see one in person but my gut tells me I'll be finding used take-offs of the narrow ones or see what aftermarket brings to the table. Maybe some blanks to cover the holes and retain some of the body line for the warm months then go back to the full coverage for winter to keep the spray down. My Jeep has about 2 inches of rubber sticking past the flares on all 4 corners and it's been no problems, just more spray in the winter.
