Are ALL Dealers Asking for the Added $500 Deposit ? ? ? ?

I switched dealers, got my initial $100 back and my new dealer said they’d let me know if they needed a deposit, but they didn’t it right away. They confirmed my reservation was switched over and still haven’t requested any money. It’s been over a month.

I would love to know if its true that Ford is requiring a min $500 deposit? If Granger is not going to ask for more them the first $100?

As of today, my dealer is asking for a $500 deposit. This was expected though on my end. When I spoke to the Ford hotline about a month ago they mentioned your dealer may want an additional deposit.

$500 isn't bad for a $30k+ vehicle. I agree with the others who say this will weed out actual buyers from people just kicking the tires. I would be screeching if it was $1k or more.

I feel like Ford should have asked for $1,000 and dealers should be asking for $2k-$5k at order. This would have thinned out all these idiots who flooded the system but won’t end up buying.

As someone who has a granger pre-order if they stick with the $100 I'm fine. Honestly I'm fine with a little more too.

I wonder what reservation numbers would have been like if Ford asked for $1k instead of $100

Same. I’ve seen a lot of people in previous threads saying they don’t want a non refundable deposit because they want to inspect the vehicle first? That’s not how this works. Like at all. This is an arranged marriage and you are buying the bronco you order unless you have extenuating circumstances.

Everyone worried about $1,000 when you’re taking about ordering $40k vehicles or more. My wild track is like $60k sure take what ever you want you’re going to get it at some point anyways.

My dealership isn’t asking for any deposit other than the 100 I put down in July. I asked them this morning to confirm and they said nothing additional at all needed. There are about 60 reservations at my dealership for a bronco.

Just ask them directly. They post fairly frequently, or at least, emoji frequently.

Yep if you can't afford to put an additional $500-$1000 down, you can't afford this vehicle. It's called good faith money people. Imagine if everyone ordered a top of the line with every option & then when it came time for delivery they get the "I didn't know it was going to cost that much, I need to cancel." This would get expensive quick for all parties involved.
