I could be wrong, but I don’t think the painted roofs come in carbonized gray. I think by definition carbonized gray refers to the MIC top.

Yes, the MIC tops are carbonized gray. However the newer models 2025 and up have the body colored painted ones.

yes but you asked for a painted top in black or carbonized gray. My point is there is no painted carbonized gray top. The only gray painted tops are avalanche gray and marsh gray. For what it’s worth those are going to be incredibly rare. You have a much better chance of finding a black painted hardtop. Coincidentally, I just did what you are trying to do and bought a takeoff black painted roof to replace my MIC roof. I hope you find one it’s a better roof. As an aside, I think I need to get a body trim piece that seems a little different from what’s in broncos with MIC roofs to properly fit the painted roof. I’m doing the research now but if you get your painted roof feel free to reach out and I’ll fill you in on what I’ve found. Good luck.

I saw a body painted carbonized gray on the lot near me, and in my carbonized gray group on 6G, 2025 models have a few. Here is the online picture and window sticker. The window sticker for the MIC say (Molded in Color) not body painted as well. But I still agree with you, it will be rare to find. And most likely find a black painted one before that, which I am fine with. Thanks for the info on the fitting I’ll be sure to follow your other post.

How did you find a painted one? On here? Facebook? Junk yard? And just curious how long it took when you started your search.

Interesting. I stand corrected. I think it’s because I was looking at the build and price options for 2026 and there was no carbonized gray roof available as an option. It was probably a 2025 thing only. That’s going to be very very hard to find.
So I started my search probably late in 2025. Originally I wanted a desert sand painted roof and I figured there would be several popping up here and there. That is not the case. There was a post in this forum for a painted black roof in February of this year, and I didn’t jump on it because I was still holding out for desert sand. Stupid of me. I found mine on this forum a week ago. You can set up search parameters and you’ll get emails when people post things for market that you’re looking for. Literally it was posted and I responded within 15 minutes and drove out to see it the same day. The one I just bought was the first one I’ve seen since February in the Western United States. This forum is much more reputable because you can go back and look at a seller’s posts and Messages and fairly easily determine if they are legit. Facebook is a wild West with lots of fraud. But I was still looking on Facebook and if something popped up near me, I would’ve definitely inquired about it. I was also talking to dealers and had even considered ordering it part by part. But that turned out to be ridiculously expensive. Especially since I might paint mine. So just keep looking. I would take comfort in the fact that Ford definitely is making more painted tops. I stopped at two dealers today trying to research my other issue, and one had 21 Broncos and the other had 17 that I could see, most of which had painted tops. So there’s gonna be more painted tops on the market as people decide to switch to convertibles, plus I would not be shocked if within the next year or two Ford starts selling the painted top separately. Good luck
