Need help finding ACC switched power in the dash. I’m trying to install a stronger USB-C in the upper dash panel but can’t find a good place to tap switched power. I was hoping to use the existing USB socket wiring as it’s a 12v source (confirmed with voltage meter) but the wires to the socket look like 28 awg. Where are people finding switched power? I’m open to using something in the back of the fuse panel but haven’t removed the box to see what the wiring is underneath. There are spare fuse locations available.

Ok. I think I have a solution. The BCM fuse box fuse #35 is a switched power fuse. I didn’t test all of them but most in the BCM fuse box are constant on. Fuse #35 is a spare. I’ll just use a micro fuse tap and pull off that one. Hope that helps anyone looking for switched power.

Is the BCM fuse box the one under the dash on the driver’s side? And by switches you mean it only comes on when the truck is on?

Correct. Pull the panel from the top right below the steering column. The bottom of the panel is hinged. Fuse #35 is switched. So no power when car is off and powered when car on. The rest of the spares I checked were all powered.

I’ll have to check but I just tapped one of the spares near the top right of that box for a micro usb phone holder/charger. That might be the one.

I found all the spare ones at the top were constant power. Fuse #35 is the bottom left.

This thread shows what I did for my wireless charger. You can use a blade to simply ground to the metal bracket screw around the BCM fuse box. I do recommend using a volt meter to ensure continuity to ground.
