I got one day out of the clean Bronco before heading out today and snow meltoff was running across all the roads which are still loaded with salt. Oh well, we need a heavy rain to clean the roads and melt the snow anyway so no big deal.

Now I use my 18V Makita driver, and can swap them in less than 5 minutes.

I would be real careful with any kind of driver, strip one out and you're screwed

lol... thanks Mom, I'll be careful, promise.... 🥸
I just laugh when people say to never use a drill or impact driver on stuff like that...Do they not realize they have torque settings and you always start the screw with your fingers!?!?

For removing
… think they are actually better than a ratchet… because you will keep pressure on the bolt keeping the insert against the bottom.

Hopefully people clean the hole first.

Well, to be fair, he did say "be careful", not "don't use it".... and he's not wrong.

But I've been wrenching for 50+ years, and have learned plenty from my many mistakes over the years.... just ask my wife! 😂

A quality impact driver has 3 torque settings. Slide it to the lowest setting and it smoothly runs it in until it meets light resistance...take a ratchet snug it up...
This is the one I have.

Or use a screw gun to run them in, use setting 4 of 15 available.

I saw a video where a mechanic claimed Snap-on requires use of impact drivers with their Torx bits, and will not warranty twisted or broken bits if a ratchet is used. So I was going to research that statement and HOLY SCHNIKIES!!!! $501.00 FOR A STANDARD TORX BIT SET! OMG! I thought $350 (minus some discounts and points) was expensive for the branded Bronco roll-up tool kit. Geez Louise, no wonder professional mechanics get super sensitive about people being in their box.

BTW, I was unable to verify or disprove the statement about impact drivers.

For comparison, $14.39 coupon price for a 13 piece set. I get the idea of quality and 80% of what they sell is made in the USA....but that is crazy. I'd pay 2X to 5X for higher quality or made in USA, depending on the situation....but dang near 35X! Not only should the warranty be "no questions asked", but they should also be wiping your bum for you. That shit better be hand engraved with Snap-on, size, and an upland bird scene.
