A little more growl at idle - but definitely not obnoxious. While the dB is higher its still
not loud - you can see the noise profile shifts lower frequency. Not a lot more noise in the cab while at RPM, which is impressive.

*edit*
Correction to my previous post — the idle there was high idle 1.2k

This is low idle 900 rpm (oddly it used to be 800 … interesting) - so not really any louder than stock at all. If you look at averages on the left (which is what you should be looking at, not the instant number in the center) its actually slightly quieter than stock in most cases, with the frequency distribution shifted markedly lower - although I’ll admit the dB readings are probably well within the margin of error for my phone and driveway, so .. “same loudness just deeper” would be perfectly fair

That is what I wanted to hear! Now I am just hopeful it is the same for the 2.7... I am anticipating that it will be.

Hey everyone,

We had a busy afternoon here at the shop today, and it was the perfect opportunity to get you some side-by-side content. We know a lot of you in this thread are looking for that "Refined Performance" sound, so we wanted to show you exactly where the Elite Series sits by comparing it to the most extreme system in our lineup.

We had two Broncos roll in today, and the results really highlight why we developed the Elite Series in the first place.

1. The Focus: Elite Series Axle-Back (2.7L)
We just finished up the install on this 2.7L. If you’ve been following this thread, you know the goal: a deep, rhythmic growl without the "boy racer" rasp. It sounds sophisticated, authoritative, and—most importantly—completely composed at cruising speeds.

2. The Reaction: "Exactly what I was looking for"
We caught the owner's reaction the very first time we fired it up this afternoon.

3. King of the Hill G.O.A.T. (2.3L)
To give you a baseline for just how refined the Elite is, we also had a King of the Hill system go on a 2.3L today. This is our most aggressive, high-volume, "maximum presence" setup.

If the Elite Series is the "All Grown Up" choice for a premium cabin experience, the King of the Hill is the "Wild Child" for those who want to be heard before they're seen. Comparing these two clips really shows the engineering that went into making the Elite Series so smooth.

After hearing both systems side-by-side today, it’s clear that the Elite Series is in a league of its own. While the G.O.A.T. is the king of raw power and volume, the Elite Series is the choice for the enthusiast who appreciates the 'art' of the exhaust note. It’s deep, it’s rhythmic, and it has a sophisticated soul that makes the Bronco feel like a high-end performance machine. We’re chomping at the bit to get these onto your Broncos—this truly is our most polished work yet.

I hate "listening" on my laptop speakers... BUT that sounds fantastic!

Had to run some errands this afternoon so put a few miles on it. Three observations

- It sounds better on the road than it does in the driveway.

- The change in back pressure is notable. Im sure its not crazy horsepower gains or anything, but I would say is akin to changing from Normal to Sport mode. Enough the butt dyno can tell it breaths a bit easier

- Lastly, speaking of breathing easier. Get the turbo up high - like 19-20psi, the muffler starts … I don’t know how to describe it. It’s like a cross between a rattle from a loose piece of sheet metal and listening to the suction of a vacuum cleaner hose.

Now, I realize that description sounds awful; it isn't that bad. At first I thought I was hearing air intake, or had an exhaust leak. And you have to really really push the turbo to get there - not sure you could without a tune to go past the stock 18psi boost limit. But its definitely there and definitely coming from the rear.

I’ll see if I can get audio - its hard to do and not break too many laws doing it

Okay took me a little longer than I expected.... Had the old one off and the new one loosely fit in 9 minutes.... took another 4 to get the hanger and clamps where I wanted them (played with them back and forth) then cranked it down... Checked everything over again.... 14 min 30 sec.... But I am a bit slow.

First impressions on a 2.7...

Fairly quiet on start up... I really like that.
light to medium acceleration has the sound of the bigger V6s.... I kept thinking of the old 3.8s.... deeper tone. definitely louder, stronger sounding. really like that tone.

at Cruse... louder than stock big ass can but not over bearing... more like a purr.... I am running some Nitto Trail grappler mud terrains and they are not the loudest mud terrains but you absolutely hear them at cruse speeds on the freeway.... The purr and the tires work in harmony. It was actually really nice.

Now during hard acceleration... I am going to guess this muffler is a through design with some kind of small baffling... because when the turbos pressurize up man do you hear it....very delaminated air flow under a lot of pressure. You take that pleasant deep V6 sound and add (as best as I can describe) an air gun blowing through a open ended cellophane bag.... Right now it is the hardest part I have to get used to... That is going to have to grow on me.... It is not bad... but I don't know... a bit unsettling. I mean you hear that pressure blowing through... Wow you hear it... Not that it is overly loud but it is very prominent. I am not that heavy into the turbos most of the time so I am guessing it may catch me off guard for a while.... Funny first I heard it was taking off across an intersection and thought my rear tires had caught sand... LOL

Overall: really pleased. That sound at cruse is my favorite part. You can hear it but like I said... sounds like a purring. others that own cats may describe it differently.... I do not have any cats.

These are just my first impressions.

Throw some sound deadening in the cargo. I even wrapped the outside of the plastic bin. Made a difference for sure. If I ever take the side panels off the quarters are getting wrapped too.

What a launch week it has been. We are absolutely stoked with the feedback we’ve been seeing from the first round of Elite Series installs.

The consensus seems to be exactly what we aimed for: Grown-up manners during your cold start, idle, and highway cruising, but absolute free-flowing goodness when you hit wide-open throttle. It’s the best of both worlds—sophisticated on the commute, but a full-performance beast when you’re in the boost!

Inventory Update:

All current orders have officially shipped as of this morning! Check your inboxes for tracking numbers.

New Batch Alert: Our production team just wrapped up a fresh run of Elite Series Axle-Backs.

Same-Day Shipping: We have units on the shelf and ready to head your way. All orders placed before 2:00 PM EST ship same-day (Mon-Fri).

We’ve been hearing nothing but great things from the community—from the 15-minute "driveway record" installs to the praise for the drone-free highway "purr."

It’s not peer pressure... it’s just your turn! 😉

I guess I should have mentioned but mine is fully covered in deadening as well...

This was not the finished version... I continued up the sides and the back side of the plastic quarter panel covers. and I removed that sub because that is where my new amp is located.... Do not know why I forgot to take a pic of the finished version.... Old man... LOL

Yup - mine is similar as well. Definitely not an issue with sound deadening. It isn’t bad, just unexpected.

It’s an interesting note for sure!

I’ve decided to call it The Afterburner

My son tried to call it “Can’t hold in that bad menu decision last night at The Green Burrito”

The other is sound in the 3k +/- rpm range - out on the trail I tend to just stick in 4L, and with the 7MT, I usually cruise on non-technical stuff on 3rd gear... up around 20/25 mph that's about 3k rpm - which is about right for just cruising down these dirt roads without getting too wild. 3rd gives me enough range to slow down and speed up without shifting a lot and I'm not going in and out of 4L all the time. At +/- 3k RPM the sound is definitely there, on the 2.3 it's a bit whiney and you aren't going fast enough for road/air noise to overcome it - and being top down out in the wild, I don't necessarily want to just turn up the radio either.

From what I can hear on the sound clip - this wouldn't necessarily be any quieter in that range, but does shift the note down a bit, so, hopefully, it wouldn't be as whiney.
with regard to my previous concerns:

It is notably quieter than stock at cruising speed on the 7MT. So much so the wind noise is now the dominate sound. Which is awesome, exactly what I wanted.

For folks that are looking for a stronger audio note to use as a shifting que, this may not be the model for you.

Interesting.... I actually find it a little louder. Not a lot, with a deeper tone. I like it. I can actually hear the motor now.... Stock I did not hear anything but the wind noise and tire noise at cruse.

May be a difference between the i4 and v6? Or Auto vs 7MT - we cruise at a higher RPM

Maybe that is accurate (probably).... would make sense since volume absolutely ebbs and flows with RPM.

Good call!

I don’t know about this particular exhaust (have to say I’m intrigued by the low profile tip - but, I’m not in the market for a new exhaust at the moment). But, my Steeda changed tone significantly after a few hundred miles.
