I've got a 2 door and I love it. That said, I'm going to commit some blasphemy and suggest that if you are not married to the idea of a 2 door, the 4 door is a more sensible purchase. There's just enough extra space back there to make a difference. I just got home from a trip out to Illinois, and on the way out there, I left late and slept in a rest area. I'm not a super tall guy at 5"10, but I'd really like a few extra inches for sleeping in the back, and a 4 door would have been easier for me to actually get into the back to sleep. A 4 door would have just been much more comfy. With a wife and kid, it's almost a no-brainer.

While I am a die hard 2 door guy, I can admit that for MOST people, the 4 door is just a better buy.
I hought a disel VW gulf in 2011 and used it in the desert sleeping in the tiny car with a wonderful lady and we were comfortable. The trick was to lay the front seats forward and then put an ait bed in the back with your head ending on the laid forward seats. The gulf is a lift back which is how we got in and out to sleep. Was very very comfy. But, the car was not designed for dirt roads....Maybe this idea would work in the Bronco will have to try now that you reminded me of that trip.

That's how I did it, all the way forward as far as they would go. I can sleep in there, but it's not comfortable at all.

Thats good to know. The golf is a teeny tiny car but we were comfy each one a side. I'm 5' 11" she was maybe 5'6". I'll have to try getting in a Bronco at the dealers I guess. Wonder if the Wrangler would be any better?

I doubt a two door wrangler would be any better, I'd expect it to be a bit worse. I've seen a hammock solution that I might look into but I don't know that sleeping inside the bronco rather than a tent will be something I do often enough to justify it.

@AtomicKoalaJelly

I ordered a "High" option 4DR non-SAS Badlans in 2022. While waiting, I came across a 4DR Badlands/Luxe/SAS, and glad I got it, even with the obscene markup (very common back then). I thought I'd just being doing Forest and BLM roads and the like, but with the Sasquatch I tried rock crawling and more challenging roads and trails and am now quite addicted.

My point: You may easily find you want to do more with your Bronco than you expect to, and especially more than you ever did with your Jeep. So consider the higher-performance of the Bronco as something you may "grow" into.

After seeing the front diff frame tab cracking, Bolts loose for the diff mount or broken or missing, The cheesy sealant fix for rusting shock reservoirs falling off, weak tie rods and front end components..........Im afraid to own my badlands for a long period. The ride is great and it looks good but I have to return to Jeep I guess..........Good bye Eruption Green, Hello 1941 Green! I like them both but gotta go back to the Jeep. Im Leary of stuff breaking as soon as the Wtty Expires.

If I were gonna go back to a Jeep, this would be the one - with a manual. It's a looker, and I would feel right at home with it. But I haven't had a vehicle as fun as my Bronco for years. It gets better gas mileage, has lots more room and lots more power. And from the Wrangler JK on, I think it's safe to say that there is no reason to conclude the Wrangler would be more reliable than the Bronco.

....anybody who has slept in a VW Golf, is my kind of person! Had a 1987 GTI back in late 80's-early 90's in my youth. Some of the best nights of my early 20's were "sleeping" in the back of that car.....in the concert parking lot... :)
