Help Needed: iKamper DLX mini and TrailRax HD Mount

Anybody have this setup? iKamper has a 20% discount on their Skycamp DLX models, and I’m thinking about picking up a mini. I’m planning on getting the TrailRax modular roof rack with the Pakrax. Question: TrailRax offers HD tent mounts with 1 inch and 1.5 inch rises. I know the iKamper has two rails running on the bottom shell where the clamps engage the transverse members of the roof rack. I’m not sure how tall the rails are and which HD mount will be appropriate. Any ideas? Appreciate the help.

All you need is the trailrax and the ikamper. No additional mounts. The mounts it comes with will work perfectly with the trailrax.

Nope the thing is solid as hell. The girlfriend and I tested the rigidity. Very impressed.

Yes, very easily. However it may not have the look you are wanting. Any excess lengthen should probably be shifted towards the front of the vehicle.

Closed the ikamper dimensions are roughly 57.5 inches wide by 55.1 inches long.

I can't find the dimensions of the trailrax half rack to tell you exactly how much. But it will work.

Looking at it more, it will work but I wouldn't chance it. You'd have about 14 or 15 inches of overhang to deal with. You could over hang off the rear enough so it doesn't interfere with the glass hatch for the gate.

It's an expensive gamble. iKamper will not return a ikamper that has been mounted on a vehicle. So if you don't like it or it's over hanging too much for your taste you're stuck with the camper.

Hi,

We just wanted to hop in on this one. We do not recommend mounting any tent to our Bronco Half Racks. For any roof top tent application, the full rack is required.
