If we purchased the kit with "Dealer install" does the dealer do the programming?
I'm gonna guess that it depends on how good my dealer is?

I have a 2024 BL 2dr and bought this trailer kit VP2DZ-15A416-B. I could not get the wiring harness to plug into the trailer module. It just won't fit. The part number of the trailer module itself is 28739903. When I look up this module number on the Ford site and added my VIN it says it's not compatible with my bronco. Is there more than one different trailer tow kit for 2024. My broncos manufactured on 8/2024. Does anybody know what the part number of the control module that I need ? They look like they should fit but it just won't fit. I posted pictures of what my module plugs look like. And what the trailer module plugs look like at least someone has an answer.

***** Update, I found the reason why It didn't fit, it's because there are these plugs that you have to remove then it will fit into the trailer module. Yes Ford puts end cap plugs on some wires that are not yet connected to anything. It's the same with the fog light wires if they are there and not connected.
With the aux switches wiring, they just sealed them in plastic or Silicone or something along those lines, instead of plug enders, but they don't leave open wires left to the elements to short out.

The plugs for the Ford (Redarc) trailer brake controller are pre installed on all Broncos from the factory. In cab and separate from the 7 pin harness. I did my 21 Badlands, full Ford 7 pin harness and parts. The most complicated of all model years. Re pinning of plugs required and the Lumen instructions are flawed. Dealer then programmed the module for $150.00. Done and towing.

When I pulled the panel to install the trailer module there was an extra wire plugged into the panel. Seems like it was a spare wire for something does anybody know what it's for?

Look at this video @5:17 , I have the same plug, it attaches to a dummy connector on the panel as if it was prewired for something. I have a 24 BL Sasquatch

That is the receiver for the wireless key fob.

I believe it has something to do with the radio. Just unplug it to work and plug it back in.

I was able to install everything and use the voltmeter to check the four pin connectors and everything was fine. I went to the dealer I bought the car and asked them if they could program the fdrs for the tow trailer. They quoted $239 (SF Bay area,CA) to do it. I said no thank you, guess I'm going to have to figure out how to use forescan or get some quotes from other dealers.

How did you resolve the issue? DIY or find a cheaper dealer?
Sorry for digging up an old thread. I just bought a 2024 Wildtrak and will need to install a hitch to tow my small tent trailer (which has brakes). My question is does it matter from a warranty perspective if I DIY the hitch or have the dealer do it?
My local dealer quoted me $800 plus parts for the install and I told them that was 4x the cost on the Ford website. They dropped the quote to $400 (still 2x what Fords website says). The service guy also said he wasn't sure that the 2024 had the wiring already ran to the back. They have 3 Broncos on the lot that have dealer-installed hitches, so already off to a shaky start with them.

There should be one if the dealer does it.
None if you do it.
Do you have conferencing yourself to:
put the hitch in.
Put the trailer tow module in.
Brake controller in?
The wiring should be there, you can look up under the bumper and see it if it is or isn't installed.
Are you capable of installing it yourself, and have the tools?
If yes, do it yourself
If you don't let someone else do it.
