Crack in the windshield. Please explain for the blonde is there something I’m missing?![]()
Oh no!!!!!!! I keep worrying every time I hear a rock fling from the tires and CRACK!!!! Against either the side of the car or a couple times on a windowCrack in the windshield.
Mine got a few chips a few months ago
An 18 wheeler also side swiped me and broke my Sideview and back rear fender flare
It was very minor. I'll end up getting the Sideview replaced at some point. It's 100% functional and has a crack underneath it and a hole where it folds in. I put some black tape over it for now.Oh no!!!!!!! I keep worrying every time I hear a rock fling from the tires and CRACK!!!! Against either the side of the car or a couple times on a windowI cringe
it actually hurts lol
Hopefully your Bronco’s boo boo is all fixed now and hopefully no more!!! I know my mother had a brand new minivan for the first time that was like a magnet for things happening to it.

I'll have to spend $600 to get it replaced eventually.

Yeah, I was upset at first, but it could've been a lot worse. Luckily no body damage, just plastic and Sarah and I weren't hurt.Ouch bro!
I plan on replacing my windshield next year. The cracks in mine have also gotten longer. We have a trip to Big Bend National Park and Carlsbad in February. I'll replace sometime after that trip.As far as my windshield, it just got worse.
A day ago here in North Jersey it was 18° out. I had to take my wife to work and while I was driving west on route 80, she and I literally watched the crack extend to just about 8 inches shy of all the way across the windshield.
The kicker is.. I just got a small Nick in the windshield just at eye line back in August. about 1/4 the size of fishbowl gravel. You had to really look for it to see it. Went to Safelite to see if they could repair it and they told me “no not yet it’s not a crack. It’s gotta form of crack and then we could seal it.” Well…….. it formed the goddamn crack alright.![]()
I was going to wait until March to do mine, but the fact that it’s almost all the way across has hastened that decision. Going to go with a factory replacement and going to look into some sort of covering/coating on the new window. I’ll have to do a subject search on the form and deep dive on the ‘net.I plan on replacing my windshield next year. The cracks in mine have also gotten longer. I was debating the covering too. Isn't it called X Shield or something like that?I was going to wait until March to do mine, but the fact that it’s almost all the way across has hastened that decision.
