Let's start some new trouble....with all the top color stuff going on, it's hits me that in the Chicago area, I'll only have hard top on 5+ months per year. The rest will be soft top (when it's up)...which is black. Yuck. Then wondering if Best Top will be the vendor for Ford as they are for Jeep? I do like that Supra Ultra Top.

I followed a jeep for a minute today and the soft top on it fit pretty bad on the back corners

Hoping Ford does better with their vendors

I love my best top on my jeep and its held up well for the 6yrs Ive had it but with the Bronco being my wife’s she’s not going to be able to lower and raise the Bronco soft top as she cant with my Jeep either. So she’ll be getting a hard top and able to remove the panels and store them in the back. Plus living here in CO, it does get a bit chilly in a soft top and noisy with MT tires on my jeep.

She can't raise and lower the soft top, but you think she can remove the panels and store them? I was thinking the opposite as far as my wife being able to do one versus the other. The soft tops on new jeeps seem very easy, where I can't see my wife standing on the side of the truck manipulating roof panels without a lot of trouble.

Webasto is making the soft tops (and hard tops).

On JLs, lowering the soft top (once released) can be done with one hand. Hopefully the Bronco is the same.

From my understanding (I try and qualify that, as not to spread false info) Bestop is working on soft tops, possibly even the supplier of them for the production 4 doors.
With that said, I am sure it is a matter of time before:
1) We get a 2 door soft top option aftermarket
2) A tan soft top in 2 and 4 door
3) some sunrider type tops
4) bikini/half tops

Some may already be on the upcoming options, like a mesh top over the cabin, etc. I'm not sure though so I can't say if it is fact. But it would be nice.
The Bikini (or bimini as I've seen it called also) on my YJ back in the day was handy. Rain would still come in from the back, etc. But it stopped a lot of it. And it would fill up with water if left out, which was always like handling dynamite to get it out without soaking yourself.

At the very least, Bestop has made a Sunrider for Hard Top for the 4-door Bronco. Who knows what else they're working on, but they're apparently not making the OEM tops.

IIRC the leaks had both mesh and solid bikinis as factory options.

It's not the lowering part, it's the raising part with the soft top. I'm 5'11" with lanky arms and have to stand on my 35" tires in order to raise my soft top up and pull it up and over the rear rollbar area. With the hardtop panels you can sit in the driver/passenger seat, undo the panels and then slide them to the side and step out of the vehicle. And it's reverse for the install.

JL top can be raised with one hand too. Should be fine on the Bronco. I'm not so patiently waiting for a soft top demo.

Good info. I really wish I could see it done on the Bronco before ordering....hopefully they put out some good videos on it. Someone on here had said we would be "amazed" when we saw the details of the soft top. I would like to know if that means "amazed" same as new Jeeps...or "amazed"...much different and improved over new Jeeps.

Bestop is local to me, maybe I'll stop by and ask questions regarding my jeep's top and slide some random Bronco questions in the mix lol.

Yeah I can't say Ive even seen too many pics with the soft top installed. And the one I saw in person had the hard top. I want to say I watched a video of the guy talking about how the plastic windows are removed but nothing about how it folds back, stores or removed.
