Tailgate Table - ISO key features

I've done the search and review of various threads on here, as well as looking at various manufactures but haven't found exactly what I think I'm looking for. So - I thought I would post my features in a thread and see if anyone knew of something that would fit most of what I'd like.

1. Quiet when folded and when driving (e.g. no rattles)
2. Solid, easy to clean main work surface when folded down (versus molle panel surface)
3. Easy to put away (e.g. if a cable design, not having to hold them in place so they are enclosed and protected when in a folded position - I don't what my dogs or other items in the back to catch exposed cables when table to stored away).
4. A 2nd top shelf is preferred, but not mandatory - and okay if that is a molle panel design
5. When in the closed position, I would like usable molle panels for smaller item use - note that I would prefer that mounted items not have be to removed when I want to use the table as a table

The JCR offering ticks the boxes for 1, 2, 5, and most likely 3 from the videos I've seen. But it's a smaller work surface.

I like a lot about what I see in the Broaddict (AIG) offering - other than only part of the molle panel in the stored position is usable if you don't want to remove items when you need to use it. This seems to tick the boxes for 1, 2, 3, 4 and some of 5.

I like the Front Runner offering in how they designed the additional pull out wood panel - but I don't like that the wood panel is exposed when in the stored position. This seems to tick the boxes for 1, 2 and 3 - but provides a lot of work surface when needed. Similar offering from Goose and Outback Adventure.

The perfect blend would be the pull out extension, but sandwiched between a molle panel and the working table surface so that when stored, the molle is usable, and when in use, you have the solid main surface, and optional additional if/when needed.

Throw at me other options to look at that tackle the list of features I'd like.

I have it and it's been one of the best products I've purchased for the Bronco. I use it all the time.

I will call out a few things. Once you take it out of the box, tighten all the little screws up. Mine were not tight from the factory and it rattled, but 5 minutes with a screwdriver solved all of that. My latches also were not sprung correctly and were loose but they sent new ones out and I had them the same week.

It's made by Mabett who has supported the B6G community since the beginning and taken a lot of our feedback when developing products with their manufacturing partner. If you do have an issue, they have a history of making it right.

Anyway, that's my reco.

I just installed the Mabett one with spring loaded locks so no noise. Quality ok and took an hour or so to install but overall happy with it. Bought for $110 a few weeks ago when released.

Pros...no rattle and no drilling.
Cons...like IKEA takes some time to put it all together.

Had the Bronco oem table and hated the rattles and drilling rivets not holding it tight and breaking. Through it in the garbage.

Take a peek at the Turn Offroad version.

It does have cables, but they are fairly short and haven't gotten in the way of anything, including my bratty dogs. I think it ticks all your boxes except #4.

Thank you. Nice setup - but depending on what I'm using the table surface for, I'm concerned with the openings (versus being a solid surface) and anything I mount to the molle panel when in the stored position will have at least straps through the work surface when the table is open.

This, and the AIG equivalent are on my short list. My only hesitation on this model is that only the lower two smaller molle panels are usable to not be in the way of the table and shelf when opened. I also like the option to extend the work surface using the flip out bottom on this design. Definitely a top contender.

Do you find the cables get in the way of anything when in the stored position? I have the 4-door Bronco and my dogs often ride in the cargo area - so I try to keep anything that is mounted in my cargo area tidy to prevent any unforeseen interaction/entanglement with them.

Thanks for recommending - it does check a number of the boxes. Does the cutting board come all the way out for more thorough cleaning when needed? what do you use the cut out for in the table work surface?

Another option: the Trailgater.

Checks the box for 1, 2, and 3. Kinda/sorta also does 4. Rather than a shelf it uses a magnetic strip you can use to bolt utensils, tools, etc. as well as a slide-out cutting surface. I actually prefer it over having a shelf as proves an overall larger work surface that's easier to access.

The downside?? It's pricey and doesn't check the box for #5. But it's easily in my top 3 favorite accessories, and by far the accessory I use the most on an everyday basis. I got a video on it if you want to get a better feel for it.

Cables are all good. Short and tucked in on the sides.

The rear cutout holds your beer!
The two up front are holes for the rubber spacers/dampers to contact that keep it from rattling.
Yes there is a thumb-screw underneath that you undo to slide the cutting board all the way out.

I have the Ford Accessory tailgate table. No rattles but zero other reason to consider it. Only one shelf and installation required drilling 4 holes in the tailgate of my brand new 60k car. Nerve racking! I’d recommend shopping for one that uses existing mounting points and make your selection from there.

I have the jcr. Solid. Watch the install vids. It a no drill install, but u have to remove the spare tire. But it’s 2 solid braces inside the tailgate, not just pop in pieces. As for the second shelf, better that way imo as crap from stove not splashing up onto 2nd shelf.
